Good Deal? 2000 Mustang GT Convertible, 63k miles, for $8,300?

Mach1 is coupe only and Cobra convertibles are going to be even more expensive than a GT, especially the Terminators, and there are a lot less of them to begin with - no Cobras in 2000 or 2002. If the OP wants a convertible then a GT is a perfectly reasonable choice if he doesn't want to spend Cobra money.

If I were buying this myself for the long haul, I'd probably think about investing the extra time and money to find a Cobra though but I wouldn't have any qualms about picking up a GT either. V8 rumble plus open air cruising equals lots of smiles.

what car sounds better with stock exhaust? the cobra convertibles or the gt convertibles?

I don't think there's a huge difference stock. They've both got h-pipes from the factory and very similar exhaust setups otherwise, they have the same displacement and neither has any radical camming or tuning going on so they're gonna sound fairly similar in your normal driving ranges. 4.6L mod motors, whether 2V,3V & 4V all sound glorious. GTs sound good stock and sound even better once you find the combination of muffler and mid-pipe that suits you.

To the OP, before I would buy that 04 GT I would get this: 2001 cobra mustang

Yea its far away, has more miles BUT its a very clean and non-modded 01 Cobra vert just like you want. This would be the perfect car imo for what it looks like you want. I would bet that the Cobra will hold its value when that special package GT will come down quite alot.

Wondering what a good deal would be on a mustang gt convertible. I have 3 options that I am looking at right now..

- 2000 GT Convertible, Gold color, 63k miles, $8,300

- 2003 GT Convertible, Dark Blue, 31k miles, $13,000

- 2004 GT Convertible, Black, 40th anniversary, 13k miles, $14,000

What are the best deals you think? any thoughts on the model years 2000 - 2004 in terms of each other? basically the same exact car right?

on the 2000 vert...is it a florida car? or a northern car? the rust factors into the price...just saying.... florida car with no rust and clean...8,000 is the price...cash talks only if its rusty....clean cars bring the money...i`m a buyer for a couple of dealers down here, I know:D
