I have an '86 Lincoln Mark VII LSC-
5L HO/AOD
billet underdrives
3.08 gears (stock for now)
MAC 1 5/8" shorties
gutted h-pipe
flows (40 series with turn-downs)
17" Bullitt wheels
coil spring converted (no more leaky air bags)
pro comp upper & lower intakes
70mm EGR Delete 2" spacer and
70mm BBK throttle body...
the car has sat for nearly eleven years, and I have recently had the pleasure of saving it from the crusher... My question is this... I have replaced the throttle body and it came with a TPS, when I bolted it on, it was calibrated perfectly for my car somehow. It had surged badly prior to the installation of the new TB w/ TPS. The idle was a little high, so I backed it down where it needs to be, now it surges sometimes.
My friend had this little thing that connected between the TPS and the harness that is supposed to correct bad signals from a faulty TPS, increase throttle response, etc... I have noticed no difference and my car still surges a little, just like it does with out this lil black box installed. Its an $80 part through jegs or summit, but i cant for the life of me figure out how to notice its there.
My friend I got it from said there were a few simple steps to calibrate it on the vehicle, but i cant get the red light to go off... or keep the green light on. If anyone knows anything about this, please reply! i love my car, but this is kinda driving me bonkers...
