What's your response to the naysayers? I had a guy tell me today when I told him I had an '89 that the 80s Mustangs were the ugliest generation (not counting the IIs) of Mustangs ever. He said they were junk, and boxy "Fairmonts with horse emblems" All I could say was "well that's your opinion"... What do you do with idiots like this?

When i hear stuff like that it's usually from someone who owns something newer and they think their poop doesn't stink, so i ask them if my car is so old and crappy, why don't we take it to the track? That usually bring up a bunch of excuses to which i usually reply "that's what i thought".

Eh, its kinda like being the kid who always gets picked on. You get used to the comments, but deep down inside, you know that you will be faster/better than them one day and that they are giant douche-canoes anyway. (<- can I say that?)

My GF HATES my notch and refuses to ride in it. That one hurts the worst, I think. :nonono:

I think hes jus jealous that he dont have 1, Im serious to. Ive never heard any1 say that about the foxes. Ive heard people say that they dont like em, but not that they're that ugliest mustangs. My brother is GM all the way and has several Chevy related tatoos, and even he like the foxes.

I've always loved the fox since I was a kid. I guess it doesn't bother me unless they are driving a camaro wedge or something that's uglier. Everyone had their own opinion I guess. At least my wife likes my ride and doesn't mind the exhaust fumes too bad.

Eye of the beholder; I rather drive something that is ugly and fast, than something that looks fast but can't get out of its own way. My response is the same everytime, lets :track:.

I hear this at least 5 times a day from kids at school. They think my car is the ugliest thing on the face of the earth. All they talk about is the POS 2010 camaro. They seem to think the camaros are a gift from god. Personally, I think a notch is TONS better looking that a damn 2010 camaro. I think they are one of the ugliest cars that's being made right now. They all talk crap about mustangs. I take great offense to this. My cars are like my family or gf. If someone says something bad about them, I get very pissed. At least I know I will have one of (or possibly the fastest) cars in the parking lot next year. Then we will see who is still talking chit once I come camming by them in their little rice burners their mommy and daddy just bought them, when I can say that I built and paid for MY car MYSELF.

Most of those kids have no damn clue what a real car is. Personally I think its funny as shat when you see them, at the track actin like thier car is the **** and then run 12.50 1/8 mile e.t. and then act like it was fast. Foxes ( including 79-86 ) are the best looking post 69 mustangs ever built!!!!!

Same thing when I was in high school. Once you roll up there and show them what you have, they'll shut up. 99% of those kids have no idea what they are talking about anyway. Ask them to line up (on the track, of course) and they'll start digging for excuses. Guaranteed.

Edit: Just reminded me of the shy, quiet chick who drove an LS6 anniversary T/A. She was hawt too.

I hope that once I roll up and show them what a real car sounds like, they will quit hating. And yes, none of them have any idea what they are talking about. They all think that no matter how much you do to a 5.0, it will still be slow. Little do they know that the 5.0 pretty much started the late model muscle car/drag racing craze. There is only one fox at my school now. He's a senior and has a calypso hatch with a HCI setup and a C4. It's the fastest car in the parking lot. He also got hated on when he was a freshman, but once he showed up and they heard the car, they all mysteriously shut up and gave him respect.

Hate

I bought my car at age twelve and have been chugging away at the resto ever since. I'm 14 now. I have to admit I wasn't a huge fan of my GT in the beginning but after constantly looking at it while working on it and seeing it sitting in my driveway its grown on me. I do get alot of hate or mixed emotions from my friends and brothers friends. The only true respect Ive seen is from the 17+ crowd. Im still happy to say my bolt on and soon to have Trick Flow CNC head powered 306 is faster than all the people that drive 1.something liter chitboxs have hated on me so far. I will always love my Foxbody. :nice:
