Nightmare Experience with Mustangs Unlimited

Hi, any advice on an issue I'm having with Mustangs Unlimited. So awhile back I ordered flow tubes for my Mustang through Ebay, Mustangs Unlimited Ebay store, and inquired about adding tailpipes to the order. When I received the flow tubes, I got a note that the tailpipes were on backorder so I called an cancelled the order. Then about a week later when I was expecting a pay cheque re-ordered the tailpipes and they once again told me they were out of stock of the ones I wanted so once again I cancelled the order thinking that I would go with another company. About two weeks later, I wrote to see if they had any in stock that would work, and this time they did have them in stock, so before my dad and I ordered them I gave them a shout just to make sure that the previous order's were cancelled for sure, because I didn't want to get two sets of tailpipes by mistake. The person on the phone confirmed that the previous orders where definitely cancelled. So I went ahead and made the final order.

About a day or so later I got the email confirming the item had been shipped so I was happy. Then about 3 or 4 days later got another email that the item had been shipped. So at this point I was pretty concerned that they had possible shipped an extra set of tailpipes. So I emailed them and was told that they sent the order in two shipments, then I called and the person on the phone also told me, not to worry, that it would be the left and right tailpipe separately. So I was fine with that. Then a few days later, UPS shows up with two packages. So I was pretty happy that they had finally arrived, but after UPS left, I realized the two duty sheets I signed weren't just copies of each other, I was actually being billed twice for 60 dollars. Then I cracked one of the boxes, and there were two sets of tailpipes.

So mustangs unlimited told me that if I had refused the one order that when it arrived I would be refunded for being double charged, and now they will not pay to have the item shipped back even though I think it is there fault for telling me the left and the right would be shipped second. Otherwise I would have just refused the order at the door. So now I am stuck with two sets of tailpipes.

So it is looking like they are going to play hard ball with me and are not being cooperative in the least. So all I can say is, if you ever order from Mustangs Unlimited, be careful, because they don't really cancel orders over there, if you order and cancel, you will be charged and the item will be shipped no matter what. This happened to me in the past with a pacesetter x pipe I bought from them. They shipped it about a month later, after I cancelled the order because it was on backorder. They must get backordered items confused over there. I am just angry at the way they handled this, any other company would probably pay to have the pipes sent back, like they would have ups come and pick them up, even though I would still be stuck with the 60 dollar duty charge.

So if anyone is interested in 2.5 inch flowmaster, non-stainless tailpipes, they are unused and sitting in a box in my garage. I have ordered from this company so many times over the last 8 years that I have owned this car, and probably would have spent thousands over the next 10 years from them. But I will never in my life order another product from a company that treats its once loyal customers like total garbage.

Big issue for me is the principle of the thing, when I was concerned about receiving two sets, and being charged twice and contacted them about it, they gave me the runaround, about the left and the right which was bs. And now I am stuck with it, with them doing absolutely nothing about the situation. I am in Canada, and not sure what I can do or who I can contact to get a refund, I may call my credit card company and see what I can do, or what protection I have. Because I think they are just taking advantage.

If any of you have any advice for me that would be great.

I haven't had much luck with them myself which really sucks because they are only 45min from house. Sadly I would rather pay shipping and wait for 50resto, summit or jegs before using them. 2 times they told me they had something in stock and I drove down there and then the guy tells me they don't have it, this was back when gas was $4 a gal. wtf! It just left a bad impression, once okay twice somethings going on so there is no 3rd time . out of the many transactions with the above companies and a couple of others no problems other than 1 a couple of years ago with 50resto and they fixed it asap :nice:

Being very local helps out for me... but they are not the brightest bunch there. One time I went and got 02 extenders. The counter rep told me I needed two sets, as each was for one 02. Come to find out, one will do about 15 02 sensors... I returned the second one and informed them to maybe know before you comment.

Another time I went and purchased a Mac CAI. It was late and I got the box as they were closing. In my haste I grabbed it and left. Opened the box up that night, and found a pair of shorty headers for a 94-95 GT. Needless to say I was in no rush, returned them, and got the right part.

WOW, Im glad you created this post because I was just about to create one myself. I am in a very similar situation with this company. I must say this is probably the worst customer service I have ever received; they have been giving me the run around for about 2 months. Let me tell you my story...I have dealt with them on a few occasions and have had no issues. However this year, I order 1500$ worth of stuff from them (rims, h-pipe, headers) and this has been a nightmare from the start. I originally ordered the products on June 1st and we are now in August and the situation has yet to be rectified. I ordered my stuff on June 1st so I wait a few weeks nothing has arrived or has been shipped, so I call them and they say they are waiting on the rims because they are on back order, thats fine, ill wait some more, a MONTH later still nothing, so i say to myself (f*** it) I will order from someone else. The next day, I call mustang unlimited just like you to cancel my order. The guy on the phone said, no problem it has been taken care of, therefore it has been canceled. I decided to wait a few more weeks just to be safe before ordering from someone else. Man was that a good decision, because 2 weeks later in mid July my order came in. I didnt so much for that but when I opened the boxes an other surprise was waiting for me!!!! They sent me the wrong wheels!!! I had ordered 03 cobras they sent me 95 cobra R wheels!!!So now im stuck with wheels that i did not order and I am not sending them back because who knows when i will get the correct wheels? I also live in Canada and by the time i get the correct wheels summer will be over and i am not waiting that long. I will keep these rims but they will have to compensate somehow because these rims are cheaper then the one i ordered. What a nightmare and the customer service is horrible, the guys that answer the phone are rude and have no idea what they are talking about, emailing is not much better.

Please do not hesitate to contact me, send me a PM we can look at the situation together and see what we can do. I think it wouldnt hurt to contact the Better Business Bureau and to email every mustang magazine or any mustang website to see if someone is willing to pick up our story, thats a place to start...

Ive had this happen to me a few times, seems like the last year or so they are getting thier **** together though... but maybe thats because everytime i drive there im ready for war, so when i get what i need, its just a bonus... so i guess what im trying to say is, that when you order from MU, set yourself up for disappointment. They have a few good guys working there, but their customer service is lacking, and the lack of knowledge of mustangs is painfully obvious and they never have anything in stock, but always have "3 of those in Georgia"

So I wrote them back again, and they are totally denying that the guy on the phone told me the left and the right would be shipped separately. They are saying "that your order was shipped in two parts" meaning two order's for tailpipes. That's just bs, who would order two sets of tailpipes, and I don't know why I got a lx set and a gt set with turndowns, when I ordered a set of gt tailpipes. They said they would refund me but they won't pay to have them sent back. I honestly will never buy from them ever again in my lifetime. If I heard that company went down, I would be so happy. They are totally rude on the phone, and if only you guys could see my email responses. I think contacting the better business burreau would be a good step, if they were local, I would be over there in a second blasting them. Uneducated bunch of moron's. Customer service lacking is a understatement for this company, I would pay extra every time to not order from them. I have an extensive list of parts I will be ordering in the next few years, and will honestly never order from those as*holes again!

The only advice I have is **** Mustangs Unlimited. Bunch of douchebags. The CT store is 30 min away from me and I would rather mail order. They have a store the size of wal mart and don't have anything in stock, and the people that work there are too dumb to even work at wal mart.

The people at the one in GA are a bunch of dumbasses too. My friend wanted a 67 gt500 hood for his mustang and they brought out like 3 different ones and none of them were the right one. Turns out they didn't have it in stock when they told him they did. Its a good hour to get there and gas wasn't cheap back then either. They were so disorganized it was stupid. Nothing was in the right box, they didn't know wtf they were doing. I asked the guy at the counter if they had any pushrod guide plates and he was like ok you need some push valve guide plates I was like suuuurre. He obviously had no idea wtf I was talking about. When he finally figured out what they were they didn't have them. I'm never giving them any of my business.

Yeah I thought living in Georgia close by MU would be great. The first couple times I went they had what I needed and I was able to pick it up and no problems. The last 3 times I was there they didn't have anything I needed in stock. The last time I actually called before going there to make sure they had what I needed...nope. I told the sales person..."Ya know this is the third time you guys didn't have something in stock and once I again I will be ordering from LRS..." no real response back. One time I wanted to just buy some 17x9 Bullitts - back order, Steeda bumpsteer kit - backorder, OK...how about a Steeda firewall adjuster - back order...I asked "So...what DO you have in stock???"

I'm all done, shame since it'd be cool to have a Mustang speed shop local. Guess not. I just order from LRS or American Muscle now.

SO lemme get this straight, when the tell me that they "have the parts in our georgia store" they really dont have them? BIG SUPRISE... the must tell you guys down south that they have the parts in CT huh :rlaugh:

Hey, Just wanted to update you guys. Mustang unlimited will finally refund my money they owe me. YEY!!! only took 2 months!!!! They sent me 98 cobra R which were 30$ less then what I originally ordered (03 cobra). Didnt feel like waiting around for them to send me the right ones because it took them 1 month and a half to send me the original set. That means it will almost be winter by the time I get my rims LOL. Dont want that + the 98 cobra R are alright rims anyways, they were my second choice.

Just wanted to let you guys know that if you have any issues with mustang unlimited to contact a Supervisor by the name of Leon, he was very helpful and resolved the situation in less then 20 minutes. WOW all the time i wasted with the other morons. When the one guy that actually knows what he is doing gets it done in 20 minutes.

That is a scam

I had a bad experience with them also and since have not ordered from them. I buy on ebay the temp gauge and they sent me another.
they have a picture of one original and sell a generic,
That is a scam !!!!! MustangUnlimited anymore

I love LRS nothing but good dealings with them, i have ordered from three times in the last year, once i had a credit card billing problem, they held my order because the parts i wanted were the last ones in the warehouse, so they didnt sell them to anyone else. The next time weatherstripping was backordered i got a call and they sent my carpet and stuff no problems. i just bought a radiator kit form them and they sent the radiator/fans/relays/ but the parts that were b/o they are going to send as soon as they get them in so i could at least drive my car. Thats great customer service in my book!
