Fox respect... or the lack thereof

Wow, I'm kind of feeling like an old man here, at age 32.

First of all, for someone to insult what someone else takes pride in, says a lot about them. Secondly, anyone who is a true car person respects the Foxbody. People who don't, well, they are just the one's that read car magazines and watch movies and think they are apart of it. They don't know.

I know this, come to the track with out respect for the Foxbody, and one of two things is going to happen, either you will leave with respect to them, or you'll hate them even more.

I disagree with you sir, I believe it is exactly the opposite. :D Well I wouldn't do that to a 86-86 GT at least.

It's you and me Joe! when it comes to converting, 4 eyes are the goal, not the other way around.

Again, keeping with the Op,...Fox mustangs are what they are. They aren't for everybody but who cares! There are certainly enough enthusiasts that keep this body alive, popular, and looking good.
I've said it before, I'll say it again.
Mustangs are everywhere. You can't spit out your window w/o hitting one in traffic. To expect everyone to like your car (fox or otherwise) just because it's nice, clean, or fast is not gonna happen.

So get over it, and move on.

I just picked up an 89 and before i got it i was talking about it and people were like why would you get a fox theyre the uliest year. i kept showing them pics and everything (they were car guys and could respect the 5.0 engines) and it slowly grew on them. I didnt like them till recently either. then i just had to have one. I guess its a car that really has to grow on you.

You know what's funny, I think there is more 4-eye hate INSIDE the Mustang hobby than outside. More than a few of my "non-car-guy" friends have told me that my 4-eye car is better looking and more aggressive looking than the aero Foxes.

I agree w/ you Nik. Happens everyday (even in this thread). I like them both, but If I'm gonna own one, ( and leave it that way) I prefer the 85/86 4 eye. But since I was gonna hack the nose off of whatever I bought, it didn't really matter anyway.

I also find it kind of funny that for some the car had to "grow on them" even after they owned it.
AND along those exact same lines, find It even funnier that after professing my preference, my desk top background is somebody else' ( I don't know who) aero notch.

I really liked the pic, I wish I knew who's car it is.

If that's not fox respect, I don't know what is.

I just consider the source and brush it off. I know a guy with a white '79 El Camino that tells me, my car looks like an escort on steroids.

On a side note, I have been shocked at how many kids in strollers, or really young get all excited and point when they see or hear my car. I have been told that it's because my car is so bright, that the kids like it.

i have one buddy who says foxes are the ugliest mustang ever produced, i quickly remind him how many times my ugly mustang has taken his ass somewhere when his Chevrolet has broke down

I was hanging out a a buddy's auto body shop when a you boy with his dad says "that's a mustang?" after seeing it on the 1/4 window. His dad's reply was "yeah, that's an old mustang." This comment was about my 93 LX in 98. It didn't really bother me because I like my car, so who cares what anyone else thinks.

ugliest mustangs ever produced?! need we reference the 74 body? ( no offense to anyone here who may own or like them) around here you have your typical chevrolet guy who thinks his car is the baddest thing on the planet but knows nothing at all about the thing. but for the most part foxes are a prety big deal around here. i see as many foxes as i do 94 + cars a day. heck i know of no less than 10 within 5 min of my house. NOT including my 3! i used to be a chevrolet guy :( two weeks after driving a fox GT for the first time tothe parts store to fix my pontiac(AGAIN).. i bought one! never turned back. ive owned many over the years. LOVE THEM! i guess the more people who hate them...the more of them out there for us to buy!:nice:

Eh, its kinda like being the kid who always gets picked on. You get used to the comments, but deep down inside, you know that you will be faster/better than them one day and that they are giant douche-canoes anyway. (<- can I say that?)

My GF HATES my notch and refuses to ride in it. That one hurts the worst, I think. :nonono:

My wife wont either!! But she dose have a 04 stang, so its all good :)
