Bought a new car, now what to do with the '95

What should I do? If the mustang excelled at something the Z06 doesn't it would be different, but I'm at a loss as to what that is besides 1/4 miles times and that doesn't matter to me much anymore.

The mustang will excel at two things better than the Zo6 could ever dream.
1. Top down cruising
2. Said two kids in the backseat (baby seats or not) and wife in the passenger.

Both of those things will give your family something to enjoy out of the hobby all together. Its not like you would have a hard time to justify it as a show car or anything.

If its not costing you anything but space...why not keep it. Have a family cruiser and a more refined all around sports car. I hope to have this "issue" down the road and have thought about the pros/cons in how it relates to myself.

Your kids will enjoy it and your wife will probably enjoy it as well. My wife kept a picture of her dads Buick in her purse until she was 25...loves the car from her childhood memories in it. Her dad like you had 2 cars a 69 Charger R/T and a 70 Buick GSX...he sold the Charger after a couple of break-in attempts and a buddy and his wife wanting it for their own memorable history with said car. After a while the memories attached become more like pets than possessions.

Ughhh the nerve of these vette owners asking us loney stang banggers for advice. Your barkung up the wrong tree buddy better ask some of "the other guys" lolol. Good luck with it . BTW better hang on to the canary, you just never know ........you may miss your carlisle pals in the future. Dam well cant come rolling up in that thing. hahahaa

Ps. whatever you do ...DO NOT START BUYING CAP KITS FROM RYAN !!!!

ooohhh good call Adam. I call dibs on that saleen front bumper you have stashed....and the saleen taillight bezels now that i think about it. If you do decide to sell it will be like a barrett jackson for SN95 parts!

Great looking car Paul. I would hate to see your car go but I understand where youre coming from.

Add me to the list of those considering getting rid of their cars. I havent driven my car in several months and was close to selling it early this year, but didnt because I wasnt certain of what I wanted to do. As of now its sitting in the driveway collecting dust. I have a bunch of parts that are sitting in the garage that I never even installed and many that were installed and never even put to use. If I buy another mustang (03/04 cobra) then I'm definitely getting rid of it. I was even considering parting it out as a final "project" but for now its just gonna keep sitting.

Good luck with your decision

here is my thoughts , that yellow car isnt going anywhere, i have been bugging paul to buy his focus wheels for 6 months and he doesnt even have the focus svt anymore , second he would never get anywhere near what that car is worth to him , third the kids will mis the boom boom car , should i go on lol

Well I know your car is far from stock, but have you ever thought of keeping it for a collectors car? I find most of these newer cars coming out look UGLY, and my stang looks better and better as the years go by.. Although the new cars are quicker they just do not have the feel of a pushrod motor :) Give it a couple more years and that Vette will be outdated too...

Another very "efficient" option is to keep 2 cars.. 1 for daily driving, and one as "the" sports car..

Lastly, remember quarter mile times and gas mileage aren't everything :)

Paul I've been there done that. I had an 1986 Grand National with over 500HP and other cool cars. I'd say keep the Mustang. I regret ever selling my 94. My Dad always said if its paid for and you're not hurting for money then don't sell it. Well my boys are older and now they are begging me for a project. My 12 year old will get his wish. Roger and I (Green94 5.0) just picked up 1992 GT and we will be installing all the parts I had on my 94 (Edelbrock RPM Intake, GT40X heads, etc.). We pick it up on Saturday (see sig.).

The Vette is cool. I worked for a Chevy dealership for a few years back in the day. I was so thin (put my feet behind the front wheels and sit on the wheel) back then I invented a quick way to knock out Vette tune-ups in half the time. I was the designated Corvette Tune Up Mechanic. It was all I did everyday. The ZR1 was out and I would test drive them, fun times. Vettes are great but having wrenched on both I'd still prefer the Mustang. Unless you're really hurting for the money hang onto it. Trust me you will regret it like me.

I have made up my mind to keep it for the time being. I may even go balls out with it now and finally put the turbo on. The vette is just so damn good at everything though that it makes for a tough case to even drive the mustang. I took the Z06 to Pittsburgh a few week's ago and avergaed 31.1mpg on the trip there, and 28.8 on the way home. How do you beat that??? You can't, especially when my mustang gets 20mpg at best on the highway.
