Check your plugs real quick. Easiest way to test for fuel issues is to spray carb cleaner in the throttle body while someone is trying to start it. If it fires right up, keep hacking away on your fuel system. If not, check your spark system.

Turn the key on but do not crank. Do you hear the fuel pump run for a few seconds? If not, STOP and find out why.

Cycle the key on/pause/off several times without cranking. The fuel pump should run for a few seconds with each cycle. Does this improve starting? If so, suspect fuel pressure leak down. This could be from a leaky fuel injector, regulator/sensor, or fuel pump check valve.

Hold the throttle part way open while cranking. Does this improve starting? If so, suspect a bad IAC value.

This may not be the correct fuel pump for this car, unless you've modified it to return style. Our '01's use a fuel pump that uses variable current to spin it to the desired need as ours is a returnless system. The bbk 255's are supposed to turn at a constant rpm with return systems.

That may be your problem, or at least part of it.

found out what the problem was it was the fuel rail sensor replaced it with a new one but 1 month later have the same problem, it was starting right up when i change the sensor but back to squre 1. what can cause the sensor to go bad?
