When i shift gears in my cobra it started to shoot flames out the exhaust. When its at high rpms it makes a popping noise. I had problems with it before, but it only popped once and broke my cam shaft sensor. it seemed fine till i put on my straight exhaust pipe, and chip. any idea's before i start taking this thing apart?

What kind of chip ?

Many aftermarket chips come with a "canned" tune that are never optimal right out of the box - it's probably programmed to dump in excess fuel to be on the safe side rather than run the engine lean and destroy it.

Might want to have the chip "custom" tuned (if possible) or invest in a custom dyno-tune session at a local performance shop or tuning expert.

G'luck.

if you have o/r exaust it may just be unburned fuel igniting in the exaust. when you shift or let off the gas is when this may happen. car could also be runing rich. my GT did the same thing after O/R xpipe went on.
