I've been trying to find a direct answer to this question for a while.

I've got the Shaker500, is there a way to connect my Classic iPod to the Shaker?

I don't need to control my iPod from the Shaker, I just want to be able to play my tunes.

Can I connect a Aux cable straight from the iPod to the Aux port?

Thanks a lot,

Sorry, but this is incorrect. Only 2007+ Mustangs with Shaker 500/1000 systems have the aux input jack in the center console. The stereo on '05+ has an AUX button, but it does not do anything. There are adapters that allow connection of an iPod, but really, you are MUCH better off replacing the SKIPPER 500 HU with one that works better and has the functionality that you want. Also, you would be blown away by the difference in sound quality with a good head unit, even when using stock speakers and amps.

Just use the PAC AAI-FRD04. It is about $61 and all you need is the Ipod/Iphone to RCA cable. The cable I bought allows my Iphone to charge also. $75 total spent. It's been 1 1/2 years now.

How is the music quaility.

The music quality is great. If the price of the units that allow IPod control from the head unit were as cheap as they are now, I would have went that route. These are now $116 verses about $80 for the one I have. The $116 units have the cable plus they allow head unit control.

Just priced one for someone. Don't recall if the 2005 mustang was supported in the $116 unit.
