Yeah its definitely different. Tired of seeing the same old sh&t out there though. Obviously performance is key, But this thing has to flow pretty damn well. So opinions are bbq pit so far.HA ha what else we got?

Just because the intake is capable of flowing a ton, doesn't always make it a great idea. Might not too so bad on a 408 though. Kinda depends what you're planning to do with it. And from the looks of it theres no way in hell that things gonna fit under a small cowl

Thats a big sheetmetal upper, do you know what lower it has? This intake is designed for use with some boost (and a through the dash set-up, the TB will go through the cowl panel into the dash area), from your comments it looks like your N/A? Why so small on the cam, why not solid roller?

Well it has an fittings for the rear water ports, looks heavily modified at the front cross over as well, I beleive it is missing. IF your NA, this is not the intake I'd recommend, the shape of the upper is not beneficial to a NA engine.

Rick actually its front facing not through dash. And the whole intake is was custom built. The base is not modified it was all hand made. Dont wanna say price but could get it pretty cheap. rick cam specs are tennative at best, havent made up mind since this will see street duty.

You say you could get it cheap, but let's be realistic, you are probably in your engine 10 grand.
Price really shouldn't matter, besides it's probably cheap because nobody wants it, it's a niche racing market and sometimes expensive hardcore race parts have less value because there is no one to sell them too, my buddy has piles of racing parts, sometimes it's hard to find guys that have 1600hp engines that would buy someone elses used parts.

I'd look into a spyder style intake in you plan on some higher (than 6000rpm) rpms.
Probably get you the same power with a tenth of the headaches.

Well an intake is less of a wear and tear item 2000xp8. I do understant your argument though, But yeah cheap! Look let me clear the air here just a minute. Not anything is set in stone. First let me State that the car will be taken to car shows and used as a promotional item for my business. I am not out bracket racing even going to the track much for that matter. The awe factor plays a big part in my decision. As for know there are a few ways i can go with the engine, And yes i have looked into the spider as well. Might possible drop the compression and force induct as well. I do appreciate everybodys opinions though, so keep em coming...

I'm betting it was built that high for one reason...to clear the distributor. That thing probably has as much displacement than your engine does. It'll look cool with a 24 inch cowl hood :D
