I looked around for a radiator, and saw that Jegs shows that their radiators the ones they have mde for them to sell as Jegs aluminum radiators are made in America. They have gotten good reviews on most the forums. So I decided to buy one. I try make sure that the things I buy are made in th USA when ever possiable. So it was a big part of my decicsion when I bought one. Well it came in today and in one inch tall letters on the box it says a MADE IN CHINA. I am disappointed. I understand that everything seems to be heading that direction, and that even a 2011 mustang is made of 35% out of country parts. However I am going to keep/make my 86 stang as American as possiable. I will return this radiator and find one that is made in this fine country. And keep one of my fellow countrymen employed as long as I can.

So if any one knows of a good American made radiator let me know.
Buy American while you still have a choice!

You should have asked about Griffin or Be Cool. At the price they sell for, I assume that they are domestic products. Be prepared to spend 2-4 times the price of your recently returned Chinese unit though.

I'm not sure where the FRPP radiator is made, but at least it's sold by a company that doesn't have MORONS and SELF-SERVING ****HOLES as executives (uhm, like every other auto manufacture, and most other companies).

Buy Ford :nice:: At least our company doesn't exist for the SOLE reason to make the executives rich - like every other auto manufacture out there is.

I looked at the Flex-a-lite fan and radiator combo. They claim to make the rad here in the US. I read a few post where people were having some trouble with Fluidyne rads leaking. Said they replaced the for free but the hassel of swapping them every 6 months didn't sound good to me. Any one have a be cool in their car? I am all for what ever will last the longest, but made in America should mean something to everyone here. The fact that made in America hasn't meant much in 10-20 years is what has put the U.S. in its current situation. All of our major maufacturing has gone over seas. Mostly to countries that can make a cheaper product faster. Who here is reading this on a computer or phone made here in the USA? Or is wearing at least one item of clothing right now made here? Don't get me wrong there are things made else where that are great products. For example I think the Japanese make some great stuff, and with pride no less. Made in America in a selling point still to some people that is why companies list them as MADE IN AMERICA . You don't see to many ads bosting MADE IN CHINA.
I am just looking for a good ol USA radiator, not trying to get into some kinda moral or political argument/ disscussion. I am sure this will get moved out of tech as is. If it got you thinking or sparked a little pride for our country then I don't think be a little off topic has hurt any one.

Look into ron davis radiators.
I'd suspect since many are custom that they are made in the US.
I've been lusting after one since i saw pics in fastdrivers car, if that radiator can't keep your car cool, nothing can.

I have a BE COOL radiator, no complaints here! Yes, it was fairly pricy but I feel it's a quality radiator. You get what you pay for.

As far as receiving foreign made parts. When I replaced my heater core one time, I ordered a heater core from LMRS because in their catalog (At the time) advertised their heater cores were made in the USA, and replacing a heater core is a job you only want to to once. Well of course when I got the heater core stamped on the box was, MADE IN MEXICO. So much for honesty in advertising!

Made in America can still include parts made overseas. I think there are certain percentages of material, or certain value-add steps that can be done here to legally allow the product to be "made in America"

Alright lots of looking and checking around. Almost ordered a Becool. Looked great all good reviews, but it didn't look like I could use the stock fan shroud with out some fab work. So I orded a Griffin. It is a thicker rad. 7-579bc-fxx says up to 600hp for what ever that means, but looked like a good radiator and seems like it will work with a stock fan. For now anyway. Let you know what it looks like when it gets here. Grifffin didn't have it in stock so they are going to make it. Right here in the USA.

Yeah I was concidering a fluidyne, but I saw a few people on here that said their fluidyne leaked after a few months. They also said that they were replaced under warranty. Also saw a bunch of people that had them and liked them. I am sure you could find them same number of reviews and out comes for any brand. I have to tell you I have a FRPP in the car right now. I has been in three of my cars and is at least 7 years old. I got it used. It has worked fine. Ran it on alll kinds of engine combos. But this summer in 100 degree temps it seems to be creeping up higher than I like. I had a similar problem on another car nd it wound up being a clogged/built up radiator. Everything else on the cars cooling system is new and working. I could have just gotten another Frpp rad but wanted something a little bigger so I didn't have to worry about sitting still with my ac on in 100* weather.

Were the Fluidyne radiators ever a consideration? Can't say I've ever heard anything bad said about one of them?

The modular guys complain all the time about fluidynes leaking.
When i took the 4.6 gt rad out of my car for an 03 cobra rad i wanted a fluidyne, from alot of reading seems the fluidynes leaked just as much as the much cheaper mishimotos.

Like your stand on American made products. Live that myself, even when at WalMart!! Try that!
I'm in the market for a radiator for my '95 GTS. Think I'll go Griffin. LMK how you make out.
