ebrakes not holding

I had the rear passenger side brake caliper changed due to a damaged seal. I changed the pads and rotors at the same time as the right caliper. Now my ebrake does not hold the car on an incline. I took it to another shop and they told me that the replaced caliper was not working correctly so I had them change it. No improvement. Other than the pads being glazed over (NAPA's best pads) I do not know what to correct. The brake lever seems to be pulling the cable tight. If I raise both rear tires off the ground the left wheel holds fine but the right does not which tells me the cables might not be even but I do not see any adjustment on the equilizer. Any one run into this problem?

slide pins

Seems like two of the mechanics who have taken the caliper off and replaced them would have noticed if the slide pins were bad before putting the unit back on the car. The side that did not get changed works as it should.

If one caliper is replaced, the other on the rear should be replaced as well. These things should be replaced in pairs. The shop should have told you that in advance. Your problem is one of 2 things. 1 - as I stated, they should be replaced in pairs, and the problem could be that the drivers side calipers piston is so worn that it moves too easily allowing the drivers side to move before the passenger side. or 2. the slide pin on the passenger side is sticking due to corrosion and/or lack of caliper grease. Clean corrosion off pin and apply grease to pin then reassemble.

One other thing I forgot to mention. There could be air in the brake line on the passenger side, not allowing it to function properly. It's possible the lines weren't bled properly.

The drivers side caliper could be sticking IN a little but not retracting all the way. Thats a slight possibility.

EBRAKES

After being told and paying to have the replaced caliper replaced itself I asked the mechanic to take the tension off the cable and redo it at the brake lever. It as just a simple matter that the tension had not been released on the brake lever the first go around as was described one should do in the tech manual. A fifteen minute fix and no cost, this I found out after spending 350 dollars.
