Possibly selling the car, need suggestions.

 Serial killers dont drive Evo's! what is the world coming to?

Evo's are damn nice cars. but i think you would regret getting rid of the mustang.

lol where have you been? havnt heard from you in a while... i drove the mustang to work today and it kind of felt good...i forget how good it sounds sometimes....sucks in the rain really bad though :(

I say look at your options.

1) obviously money is not an issue since you can own two cars, but the question is the mustang paid off?

If the mustang is paid off, at most what could you sell it for vs how much have you paid for it total?

2) Do you have any other cars? Maybe its a good idea to keep it as a backup, you never know when you might need a second car, for example you get stuck on the road or someone crashes into you.

3) If you have children, are they near the driving age? If so maybe its a better idea to keep the car for him or her as a first car.

4) If money is no issue and you have a garage, I would park it, pull the engine and rebuild it from the bottom up, piece by piece. Make it a project car, even if it takes years it will be a car you will love for a long time. Even if you have no car experience this could be a time to learn. You can buy all the tools needed, get videos or help online or on forums or even have forum members help for less than a shop would charge.

5) If you have a wife or gf does she love the mustang? if so keeping it for her to use would mean a less chance of her using your evo.

Once its sold its sold, so good luck with you decision.

Thank you! few things about what options you have gave me.

the mustang has ben paid off for a few years now..thank god lol and it was my only car until now. i guess having a second car for any issues or accidents would be nice..that paid off when my jeep got rear ended last winter

no children or plans for children....EVER... lol

this motor is already very well built...i have pulled the motor and replaced it with the N/A high compression aluminator block with stage 2 cams, heads and every other bolt on on the planet attached lol..i really dont want/need another rebuild...they are a pain on these cars haha

the girlfriend has a very nice awd suv that she loves and i most definitely rather her drive the evo than the mustang...she cant push the clutch in on the stang its too heavy haha

i guess the only real thing that would hold be back is the fact that i wouldnt ome even close to seling it for whats been put into the motor i dont think.. theres over 6k in the motor and i dont know if these cars, when built, sell for more than that

Your car is beautiful, but sometimes you may need to move on.

The other day I noticed a small scratch on my car and contemplated getting rid of it for a nice DD, but I know I would miss it.

If you are to keep your mustang, you would have to make it faster than the evo. That's the only practical reason to keep it.

thank you..very true about moving on...i feel its time but idk if it would really be worth it...i feel you aout the scratch thing too...highway driving calls for a lot of chips...makes me sad...i wish i could make this car faster than the evo but i really dont want to throw another few grand at it for forced induction lol...i think ill just keep to having one car with a power adder...

after driving the mustang today maybe it would take the evo in a roll race but idk about off the line

any of you guys know how to upload pics on the mobile version of this site?

at least i know if i ever need to be talked out of somthing ill post it here lol

Since its been paid off for two years now I'd say keep it. It never hurts to have a backup, plus you've invested 6k into the engine and the most people who are in the market for a mustang are cheap now since they can be had for 5-6k. Ive seen some super sweet rides sell for 8-9k with over 20k invested in them. It just sucks. They spent so much time and money in it then they give it away. If people who had invested so much stopped selling them for cheap it would help keep the sellers in control.

You have a few options,

1) keep it
2) sell it as is and not get much more over kbb
3) take the engine out, and throw in a stock engine and remove all aftermarket parts then sell for kbb.

If it was me, I'd do option 1) or 3) From what it sounds like, your mustang may already be faster than your evo. The evo just has all wheel drive, which is very helpful when taking off from the line. The evo though wont have the torque or fun factor as the mustang does, unless you get those rpms flying on that evo.

If you have e85 in your area, I would convert the car to e85 and toss on a supercharger. Even cars with high compression can run boost at 6-8psi. Then add e85 and you can up the boost even more.

Sounds like you've invested alot into your car like i have, what have you done to you car? Do you have a mod list/pics?

good call..id really hate to only get about 8 or 9 out of it...the mustang definitely feels torquier than the evo but awd is so effing great lol

mods are mostly whats in my sig (if it shows up for you). i have tons of pics on here as well as a build thread... when i get to a real computer (im using my phone) i can post up more pics... its looking like the best thing to do right now is keep the mustang

once i get a few parts for the evo that may convince me to finally get with my hook up at afco and put their k member on the car.. at least then i wont have to rush the job and i can take my time doing that project and any others that i can think of doing.

yeah for me im not seeing any sig. I'm on my mac using safari. Anyone else see his sig?

Well there is one nice benefit of keeping the mustang. If you plan to modify the evo or the mustang you have another car that you can use while you modify it. That way if something goes wrong, or you need a part you dont have to rush it just to get you back on the road.

Edit: i see you sig now, i think it was the forums. At first it was loading slow and now its no longer loading slow.

Whats your compression ratio?

good points however, i absolutely hate corvettes... i respect the ls motors and the power they make but ive never ever been a fan of the corvette cars...

This has GOT to change your mind....
