Performance tunes for 2011 5.0 (automatic)

I am in the market for a performance tune for my 2011 Mustang GT/CS (automatic). I want the best tune that will lower my existing 1/4 mile time of 12.794 sec. I used BamaChips in the past for my 4.6 GT and loved their race tune for the automatic. However, I have read that Brenspeed tunes seem to be more alive in higher gears and that BamaChips seem to be better in lower gears. I have cut a 1.972 60 foot time as well as several 60 foot times under 2.000 seconds. I think I need more power at the end of the 1/4 mile to improve my time.

I have also thought about adding a CAI and Boss 302 Intake Manifold. I would like to eventually get into the 12.2-12.4 sec range for the 1/4 mile. I think by adding a good tune I could be in the 12.5 range.

Honestly you are going to get similar results from whoever you go with due to your limited mods.

I personally prefer Paul from Torq as he'll take his time to get the car dialed in just the way you want it.

I too have a 2011 Mustang GT 5.0 automatic and have done the following modifications - Steeda CAI, SCT Performance 93 Octane Tune and replaced my factory installed 3.15 gears with 3.73 's. If your looking to improve your ET I'd suggest doing minor modifications to the car such as what I've done. Adding long tube headers, and and a good cat back system will also improve performance. It all depends on how much you want to spend.

what were the gains in ur 1/4 mile times with these mods?

Check out the stats on the Steeda cold air intake. This was reference in an article in one of the mustang magazine regarding HP gain, MPG. and 1/4 improvement. When I was reading it I thought that gain was to good to be true, so I looked it up. This is what thier site claims..

Steeda ProFlow Cold Air Intake on an otherwise stock 2011 5.0L Mustang has achieved a blistering 1/4 mile time of 11.88 at over 116mph!

The video speaks the truth..

Just a thought to help you achieve your goal :D

A good tune makes a nice difference!

You really have to wind out your motor to take advantage of the BOSS intake manifold though, and your 3.15 gear is not conducive to that. You're only trying to drop from 12.7 to 12.2-4. I'd go for tires & suspension. If you wanted to get a little more serious, I'd go tires, suspension, gear, & converter and you'll be in the 11s with the same HP you have now.
