69 Mustang Sheet Metal

I got in an accident and smashed up the front of the car pretty good.

I need new fenders, valance, bumper, stone guard, headlight buckets, and all brackets that bolt the valance/bumper to the fenders and frame.

I was assuming to just buy ford tooling parts but saw nobody is making these out of ford tooling yet.

I called Dynacorn and they said their stuff is made overseas and not from ford tooling. Also just about all places never advertise what brand of sheet metal they sell.

I read of a company called good mark on here, and read some good and some bad things. Also the frame shop which checked out the frame mentioned them as well. Checked their website and the sell fenders for the same price as most mustang supply places. I was wondering if they are the "generic" reproduction company that everybody sells.

"Original tooling" valence panels are not available. The front fenders will never be available from "Ford tooling". It was destroyed.

The reproductions of the above parts are useable, although perhaps not quite as good as original.

disappointing to hear the the tooling was destroyed.

Still would like to know about anyone's experience with these parts. I supposed dynacorn would be the better choice. Out of all the things they said about how theirs was better, the only thing that I think matters is they said their metal is much thicker.

Everything on this car is Dynacorn, except the roof and hood.

I've been buying parts for my 69 from NPD and have been very happy with them. I haven't bought fenders though, so I can't speak to them.

I noticed that on a lot of stuff, NPD lists a cheap reproduction and then what they call a better reproduction. Have you been going with the better more expensive ones?

The fact that NPD lists both has caught my eye to probably buy from them, plus they are closer.

if you can find original used fenders that would be nice. mabey the hood too, although it can be adjusted to fit easier than the fenders. but the bumpers vallance headlight buckets, brackets,etc. should be fine if they are reproduction . the stuff is thinner but sometimes you have to use it. thats why they make it and we are lucky they do.i dont know whare you live but here in so. cal. there is a place called mustang village in san bernardino that has a lot of used classic mustang and cougar parts. and a guy in bell ca. that advertises on craigslist

Yes, I've been buying the 'better/best' pieces. I've had discussions with the guys on the phone, NPD must provide them with details on the parts because they can usually tell you what the differences are between the parts. Sometimes the cheap one is the part to buy if you are just going to cut a section out of it for a patch as an example.
