Issues with 9004 halogen-high / xenon-low plug and play HID kit..

I purchased a 9007 high/low (xenon low beam, halogen high beam) kit from ebay, and they sent me 9004 bulbs, which they say fit exactly the same and work the same. Is this true? Anyhow, I am having issues, as the day time running lamp circuit isn't powering the halogen high beam, and rather causing the xenon low beam to flicker. Does anyone know the fix for this? Furthermore, is there any functional difference between the 9004 and 9007 bulb?

I eventually want to do a projector retrofit, because of the obvious short comings with an HID kit in a halogen housing.

Is this in a 99-04 Mustang that the kit was installed in?

Sounds like you have a grounding-wire issue, make sure your ground wires are clean and tight.

i saw a relay kit for this on e-b.. just today look under day time running lights. the problem is youre gettin too low voltage making it fliker

Yes, this was a 2000 GT mustang that requires the 9007 bulbs. I was under the impression that the DRL's sent lower current to the high beam circuit?
