Hi All,

Need help here. Ordered '12 GT and it's at the dealership. I am awaiting the Power Pack upgrade to be installed and it's held up waiting on the EPA for certification.

Does anybody have any inside info on when that may happen? I'm tempted to get the car as-is and bring it back for the upgrade instead of waiting.

What does the kit consist of? Is it the kit on the FRPP website that lists a K&N, tuner, and mufflers? I do see that they have a kit with a supercharger, as well. Is there any reason you couldn't install the parts yourself and save from having to wait for the dealer to do it? They're probably reluctant to send the car out with non EPA certified parts for liability reasons, but there's no reason you couldn't install them yourself and save the dealer the trouble.

@stangGT1995, it's the kit with the mufflers, the airfilter and the performance tune. It's the tune that is waiting on the certification. I am having the dealer install so I maintain the warranty. I spoke with FRPP and they confirmed that there is no tune available as of yet.

If it were me, and I thought it was goin gto be more than a few days I would get it as is...have them document that you are owed the upgrades...then you can drive the car for a bit and get a "before" of the car......then an "after" once it all goes thru and you can report back on whether it is worth it. :nice:

Lord knows what can happen to your car just sitting, waiting, at a dealership. Did you actually take delivery at all yet? Cause until you do, its not sold to you.

That would be the best option, and just wondering how much do these packs run. Never looked into them and I myself have a 2012 gt also. You can be the guinne pig:D and let the rest of us know if it was a significant improvement on performance or not....

OK, I pick it up Thursday, can't wait. Probably will not have the Pack installed yet. I'll bring it back for the install once it gets approval. The pack is the MFR1-MGTB, they are installing for a grand total parts and labor.

I'm kinda wondering on the details of these power packs myself (cost/performance). I've got an exhaust already, but I can put their system in and sell the borla setup if it's worth it. Plus, coming from them and being installed by them, performance tune and everything, it won't void your warranty? Do they offer a S/C setup too?

They do offer a s/c setup...one with a warranty that quotes 525hp and one without a warranty that gives 624hp. More here...Ford Racing Performance Parts

Here ya go!

@Pete - Any word on when they will release it? FRPP told me that the Track Key approval was first then the 2012 tune after. I can't wait to hear mine! My dealer won't install any part of it until they have the tune in-hand. What's your set up? Mine is manual with 3:73s.

This kit is not supercharged so the gains are modest. 16hp increase and 7lb increase. Interestingly though, torque can increase 60lbs at 1500 rpm and the skip-shift is eliminated.

Cheaper way to eliminate the skip shift is to drive the car like you own it :D mine says one 1-->4 fuel economy....i say :burnout: and problem eliminated acceleration bypasses it :rlaugh:
