Paxton 1220SL blower requirements

hey personaly what i did with my paxton 1220 sl is i made sure the crank could breath by running a breather off the valve cover and pluging the vaccume line on the throttle body. and make sure on what ever cam you do deside to go with will acually work correctly with the paxton 1220. those certain superchargers were made for a stock motor. theres alot more you can do like more spark with the high proformance coil with 8mm wires.

what size throttle body are you going to use?

the paxton 1220 personaly i think is perfect for the 5.0. good luck brotha

i'm planning on running the CompCams 284HR which is made for blowers.i have stock injectors but planned on going to 30+ lbs. injectors.maybe an 80mm throttle body would do?definitely going to shoot for a custom tune.
best input i've recieved on this site so far, thanks guys!

First you dont need forged pistons, they will take more abuse but are not a necessity.

What heads and intake do you have? The 284 is a fairly large cam for a stock motor and really isnt a good choice, plus you need some valve spring seat pressure.

Let us know what parts you currently have and I can help you go in the correct direction.

I see an Adjustable Fuel Pressure Reg or a good running stock regulator, Fuel Pump, Maf and Inj, a a fuel pressure gauge and a boost guage as musts..

gonna go with GT40 heads and intake (after i spend some time cleaning them up). i am trying to gather all my parts first, i'm starting from a Volvo-Penta 302 block and crank lying on the floor with Explorer rods and pistons.

i see you do rotating assemblies?
i vapor-locked the block and crank im going to use when the motor was in my Bronco, pretzeled 6 rods, what is the likelihood that i bent my crank?

If you messed/bent up that many rods I would be very suspect of the crank, I assume you mean hydro locked, not vapor?

Personally there are better head offerings then the GT40 at similar pricing.

yes my bad i keep saying vapor lock, another issue i've been having that's trapped in my mind.

i just planned on the GT40's since i already have them, but in the future, yes i'm shooting for aluminum or other performance heads. GT40's for sure in the short run though
