A post a day......

our computer in the kitchen died, so i went up to microcenter and they had a bundle of a motherboard and quad core AMD cpu for $120. i added on a power supply and 4gb memory for another $60. the next night i installed it all and installed windows 7 pro (as a software developer, my msdn subscription provides me 10 licences each of the different operating systems)

for a new computer for $180, i'm very happy with it. it's pretty dang fast too, but we don't play any games on it or anything.

yep, i'm a cheap bastard

My AMD died about a year ago, and I was able to get a friend down from $100 to $50 on an HP 7600. I then took the hard drives out of my old computer and converted them to externals for $20/each, therefore saving $120 for new externals. I can out cheap anyone. My computer blew up, and it saved me money.

Focus has 186k on the clock. I have no money but i think its time to start looking for a new car. The thing does not burn a drop of oil but the interior is beat and the body is showing its age (keyed a year ago and has a few small rust spots) it also has a salvage title and the old body work is slowly starting to separate.... But i bought it for $2500 and have put about 100k on in 3-4 years.

It may be worth it to just keep throwing parts at it. Then get a body with a beat motor or trans ($400-$800) and swap everything over in a weekend.

If anyone sees a focus for sale let me know. I love the damn things.

Drool: found an svt zx3 for under 5k...

Im pretty cheap to man... :rlaugh:

Its a good thing.

How about just selling that car off to a sucker and buying yourself a low mile Focus to replace it? With all those years of college you should be able to afford exotic cars by now! lol

Thats not the way i do things. Im completely honest about what i sell, even to much at times. (i end up saying every little problem something has and the person decides to buy elsewhere, Then they end up getting an unknown POS part)

I also like to help people out it makes me feel good about my self.

I do have a few other options my aunt wants to give me a 200Kish 2003 Nisan altima with a blown head gasket. Im considering putting a motor and trans in it and selling it to afford another focus.

Id like to stick with a ford or a honda. Id entertain the idea of a mustang but there is no point of me having one as a daily. I just like cars i already know the common problems of.

I love hatch backs and a roof rack for my surfboard is always nice.

Id go for in this order:
Focus zx3
Focus zx5
Honda civic hatch back 94+
Ford Escape

Im pretty sure my focus has some mileage left in it. Like i said the motor is sound and doesn't burn a drop of oil.

Looks like i better ramp it up with the powder coating and stop coating parts for free lol.

1995 mustang gt

Should i just get this pos and put my spare ditsy in it lol.

Not running? Talk him WAY down. Let them know that you can buy running cars in similar condition for the same price. These cars used to be difficult to find for sale and now they are popping up all over the place! Most are starting to suffer from issues that we all know how to fix but little old ladies who bought these things brand new don't want to spend the time and money to fix it! Good for us right.... go for it..

I'm waiting for them to get back to me with mileage and transfer info. I was going to offer 1200. Does anyone know if there is a way to get a temp tag without transferring the title? Just so I can transport it to NJ?

You guys a little more brutal than I. Why not offer 1200, the worst he can say is no.

Sounds like the car does run, just shuts off. As long as the engine and tranny are sound you should make out like a bandit.

I don't know about Jersey but I believe in Michigan you can drive the car from its place of sale to your home without a tag, as long as you go directly home. I drove a 90LX all the way across the state with no tag. Maybe there is a similar law where you live? But then again you will be going thru several states. Maybe not worth the hassle to do it that way?

Couple of my Marauder buddies and I took some photos Saturday night.
