bad turn signal switch

ive been thru 2 turn signal switches from npd. they are sending me a more expensive version and only charging me the difference in price. they also sent me the second one free, but that doesn't help much if it is a bad part. Npd has been great, but has anyone else had a problem with this part? i'm hoping the more expensive version will solve this once and for all!

Does sound like the flasher. I replaced mine because it was smoking whenever my turn signal was on. Indication showed there it was short circuiting. The switch does control the brake lights and signals but if it's your signals not working, I'd definitely lean towards replacing your flasher.

Having exactly the same issue with my 67. A month or so ago, I had no turn signals. All bulbs OK, replaced the flasher, brakes lights worked. I replaced the switch in the column ( $120) and it solved my problem. Worked great for a couple of weeks and now the same thing.

Emergency flashers work, brake and tail lights work. No blinkers on either side.

OE turn switch tends to break that it won't hold the lever, but it shouldn't cause the turn lights stop working. If that happens most likely your emergency switch has fallen apart. Because if it is in off position it supplies current to your turn lights. It has very flimsy contacts inside.

The 120 dollar replacement switch may work (if the OE's plastic arms are broken). avoid any those cheap $10 chinese reproductions, your turn light lever won't work with them.
