:nice: Been waiting to see this thing in paint for awhile now. Looks really clean, keep the pics coming. Nice work Kevin!

Mark
Thanks Mark! Its good to be out of the bare metal stage.

I'm soooooo jealous! Wish I had the space and know how to do his to my car! Keep the pics coming! Amazing build! Best one of all time!
Thanks...It will get there slowly but surely.

Been waiting to see the body for many pages of this thread. Congrats man, looks sweet. You did everything right. Now that its painted you have to be excited for assembly. How could you not. Are you doing everything by yourself? Wanted to ask that before.

Well... unfortunately thats just the first round of primer. Its an epoxy primer meant to seal the bare metal and give a base to start doing filler and blocking work. The body will probably see 5 to 6 rounds of primer and blocking. The engine bay has already seen 6 coats with sanding between each coat of epoxy primer. It will get there one day.

The quality of the work you do is simply amazing. I haven't seen one item on your build that you haven't had a meticulous attention to detail on. It looks absolutely amazing already. I was also wondering how you were refinishing the underneath side of the trunk? Were you completely stripping the paint on the under side as well? I ask because I have one someone did a crappy paint job on and need to clean and repaint it as well.

Thanks man! Yes, I am stripping the underside of the trunk lid as well. I had original factory paint on this one, but I always strip out the old seem sealer and put new on. Ford has a habit of just slopin it on there. There's usually a little surface rust as well under the seem sealer. I'll try to remember to take a pic next time I work on that part. I stripped it by hand. The metal is too thin to use a media blaster.

Finished stripping the bumper and got them in 2K primer. Now every piece on the car is at least in the primer stage.... little bit at a time.

Looks brand new :nice:. How did you strip it, looks super smooth!

Thanks Mark! Stripped it with 180 wet by hand. Lot of hours:mad:

Why is the bumper yellow, is that the color of the plastic underneath?

Yes the raw factory bumper is a yellow underneath. I had spidercracking paint on the bumper so the only way to do a proper fix is strip it all off.

Got the rear bumper sanded with 220 today and is now ready for another round of primer

I try to keep updating this thread as I do work on the 94 every day but as is the case with body work, most of it is really very boring because it is just working panels over and over to get them straight. Here is the round one of sanding finished on some pieces ready for a another spaying.

Are you going to get Grundy or Hagerty this time to ensure you don't get screwed again this time?

Kurt

Hagerty Commercial-

"No Donna, that's not classic car behavior".
-Door Slams, she leaves.
"Wow, that was solid. Can you check the tire pressure while you're out there?"

Probably a good idea to get that insurance after all this. You're car probably has $55,000+ easy into it (probably more, I'm ball parking).
