Short and sweet - Engine is stock aside from ported e7's, 77MM C&L MAF and #30 injectors, i know the injectors are overkill, but they were supposed to be for a turbo, which is soon to come. But i need more air to make use if all that extra fuel being pushed through -

Would getting an upper and lower intake be better? Or a good set of heads?

you answered your own ? . Heads. If your plans are a turbo set up start doing your homework. but Heads and intake for sure, right now the ported E7's aren't doing much with stock intake, the lower should have been ported or at the very least something like an explorer intake would have been good. keep in mind the stock block is good for 520ish crank hp before bad things start to happen to it.

well i know that i kind of answered my own question, however the ported e7s are good for a while, i just dont know for how long or how much hp.

So Upper and lower intake will be the next purchase made - i was looking into the typhoon upper and lower from summit - then have a machine shop port match them cause i know that alot of the times those intakes have problems

Heads will be the next thing, but sounds like intake would be next.

If anyone has any extra related items that are better than stock, PM me, we can work something out.

I have TMoss ported E7s and a TMoss ported lower. The E7s ported only flow about has a good as GT40s or just under/more depending on the port job, better than stock and decent for a street motor that is on the mild side but it still is on the bottom end of list for heads. If you go with the professional products typhoon the problem isn't so much port matching but alot of casting flash and rough surface that needs to be cleaned and smoothed so it can flow like it should. It is made in china and the casting is very poor and takes a good intake to kills of some its potential until it gets cleaned up. Do the intake and when you finally pull the trigger for boost the worry about the other stuff. I know alot of guys don't like ported E7s or thumpers, etc, etc but I like mine vs stock and when you get the intake on you will like them more. what you have for rear gears?

Hah - rear gears... stocker 3.08's... I know i need thise switched out asap

But i was looking for somthing to better use the #30lbers i have in there now, and dont want to go back to stock, id rather build it up.

Theres are some other issues going on which is why im wanting to increase my air flow to better use the injectors, as i want to build up, not down :D

just me i guess - haha

Put the turbo on it. Guy on another site was running high 6's in the 1/8th mile with a stock motor and a small turbo thru the AOD. Thats mid to high 10 second power in the 1/4 mile

30lb injectors have very little use. Pretty much only good for an extremely good h/c/i setup or a NA stroker.
Whether you get an intake or put a turbo on the car, they are wrong and likely you will either have too much fuel or too little.

Do the gears.
Put the stock injectors back in and have the meter recalibrated for 19's.
If you are not strategic with your parts you can make your car run worse not better.

I defiantly need the gears, but as SSStang and 90lxcoupe said, boosting it is something im dreaming of doing, and I already have the borg warner t4 turbo, just need to find a place that will do the exhaust.

I dont want to run 9's but i want something that will give me more than stock horsepower, and ive had the 77mm cl MAF and injectoirs sitting in a box for 4 years, back story to the last 11 years of this car is a long one, but they are all i have.

i think my ideal idea would be to buy a cheap typhoon upper and lower, get them ground and matched, and run that till i can get turbo exhaust.

If you can afford a turbo setup, you can afford the correct injectors.

Having a turbo in hand is one thing, having a turbo kit is another.
Are you aware of how much it costs to get a properly fitting turbo setup up and running?

Either way, the turbo will likely need 42lb injectors.

I know i can afford the correct injectors, but its the point that i already have them and want to use them, and dont want to throw money around where its not needed.

The car is perfectly drivable all stock with the MAF and injectors, so i want to build around that any way i can.

Jenkins, i'm going to say this the best i can without being too insulting, but nobody in their right mind builds a car around a $150 meter and a $100 set of injectors. You build around the heads or supercharger.
When it comes to the meter and injectors, you either have the right parts or the wrong parts, not "i'm getting by" parts.
If your car runs rich, something that's hard to tell without a dyno, it actually is slower not faster.

You seem to be hell bent on keeping them for some reason, but realize there is pretty much a 1:1 value on meters and injectors on ebay.
Meaning, what ever you sell yours for, you can buy what you really need with that money.

No insult taken man - but yes, I am kind of hell bent on using the parts I bought (slight OCD),

But if those parts i have are garbage for what Im running now, than the only option is to go with an NA setup and new HCI.

I really wanted to avoid tearing it back down to the heads, and replacing the cam (no engine pull), which is why i wanted to go the SC / TC route, but if the 30#'s arent going to work, they arent going to work...

ttt

anyone have any other ideas? intake and heads without cam swap? Or is there a way to swap a cam without pulling the motor?

You don't need to pull the engine to get the cam in and out, just take out the radiator.

Money spent on good heads is the best idea.
Get some TW's or afr 165's and you won't have to ditch those 30's. They will still be a bit much, but a hell of alot closer than you are now.
