When i am shifting from 1-2 and 2-3 i will floor the gas with my foot off the clutch and the RPM will climb to 3,4,5K RPM but the car will just rev and but not as fast.

The clutch is very high. its a spec 1 clutch. Its over 5 years old, not sure if that has anything to do with it?

Any suggestions?

Pull the trans and replace the clutch. You're likely in for a flywheel or resurfacing depending on how much heat damage there is from revving to 5000RPM with the clutch slipping like that.

In the process of putting a new clutch in it inspect and replace if necessary things like the clutch cable, release arm, pilot and release bearings, release arm and pivot, input shaft retainer (the sleeve over which the release bearing rides) etc.

So you are saying the clutch is slipping? will that make the car lose power? Because i just completed the PI headswap with comp cams 262. It doesnt feel very strong at all but i was thinking it was because of the clutch. What do you recommend for a clutch replacement? so the flywheel is different from the clutch?

Lose power to the wheels? Yes. The engine is making the power it should but it is not being transfered adequately to the drivetrain, a lot of it is lost through the slipping clutch. It's a pretty simple concept to grasp if you think about it.

More than likely, the clutch is toast. Get a new flywheel with clutch. A good time to get rid of your shorty headers since they add no power and add longtubes, even if you go with the cheaper flowtechs. Make sure you RTV the flowtechs since they slip on.

Clutch ain't the only thing that's high... replace it. :D

Will these work together? Will they work with my stock transmission? Thanks again guys

The prices seem right. Or is there a less expensive flywheel you all can think of that is good? Can they resurface the flywheel i have to save on that?

Thanks

Do you all recommend a new clutch cable / I want the pedal to be lower to the floor.

I will like longtubes but i do not want to purchase a new catback exhaust to fit the longtubes. I just did the PI headswap stage2 and comp cams. i am tapped out on cash.
