wheel.jpg I have a 72 Mustang that has a locking nut on each wheel. The car was bought like this and the key was not included. Like a dummy, I never thought much about it until the rear tire went flat (lucklily in my garage).
I need help identifying the type of locking nut this is or the specific key I need. It looks like the key should have 8 points to a male type fitting but I haven'y found anything on the interent to match so far.
Thanks in advance.

Usually everything costs twice as much and takes 3x the time but this worked. I used the socket method and it was suprisingly easy. Used a socked that just barely did not fit around the locking nut, pounded it on with a hammer and it came right off with my breaker bar.
The hardest part was getting the nut out of the socket which took a few minutes and some patience.
I paid $5 for a socket I wouldnt mind destrying but it turned out to be totaly fine afterwards.
After doing it I can't believe anyone would pay a tire shop to do the same thing.
Thanks

angryman,
Given how easy that was, I guess it shows how "secure" those locks are. Oh well, in reality locks are just to keep honest people honest, if a dirtbag really wants to get past a lock, he'll do it! congrats on gettin' er done & welcome to the forum.
