Hey everyone...I know more than a few people are like me and are constantly surfing Youtube for exhaust/intake sound. There is just so much out there that I'm hesitant to pull the trigger on one. However while surfing I found a cool video posting about taking the Foam Insulation out of your sound tube. I gave it a whirl...heck it's free. Give it a whirl if you haven't if you love the sound of your 5.0 I promise you won't be dissapointed. Here's how to do it
First off unbolt the Plastic "Flange" mounted on the driver's side rear corner of the engine bay.
Remove hose retaining clip on side that is running from your inlet tube.
Remove Foam from inside tube.
Follow the tube to your firewall...Pull hose out of firewall and Remove Foam
"Optional" Take apart the plastic flange by pulling plastic tabs carefully...There is a rubber diaphragm on the inside.
Remove Rubber Diaphragm and re-assemble plastic "Flange"
Re connect sound tube to Flange and place hose back into Firewall.
Take a ride...if you don't like it then you can put it all back.
It's not too noticeable until you give it about 30% throttle...if you don't like the "whistle" sound then put the rubber diaphragm in...I prefer the sound and it just makes the car more fun to drive.
