First off, I apologize for the novel..... So, my vert had been stored indoors long term, hadn't been driven in 4 years. Other than winterizing (checking anti-frz, using Stabil in the gas & pulling the battery), I did not do anything else. When I resurrected it a couple weeks ago, it fired right up. After letting the engine warm up for about 15 minutes I put it in gear to pull out of the shed. It's an AOD and other than having the tranny rebuilt back when it was a daily driver about 12 years ago (@ approx 100,000 miles) and adding a B&M performance shift kit the tranny has been great. When I shifted into Drive from Park for the first time in 4 years, it needed a bit more grunt than I recalled back in the day. The transmission "popped" into gear, I could hear it. That had never happened before. But then it seemed too drive fine. Now that I have my nw tires on I've been putting a few miles on every other day or so as time allows, but it is shifting erratically--holding gears too long/"power-shifting" when being driven normal and the throttle seemed to be sticking. I added a can of Seafoam Trans Tune for the shifting and also discovered the transmission kickdown bushing on the throttle plate was crumbling and allowing the cable to bind. With that replaced I drove the car again tonight around town and regular Drive was rough at first, but smoothed out and eventually got back to normal. So I then headed to the highway and tried out OD, which was fine until I hit about 50mph and the next shift didn't happen, it just revved. So I pulled over, put it back in D (which still worked fine) brought it home. Do I just need to give the Trans Tune more time and gentle miles to work its way through the entire tranny or do I have a serious problem?

Might just need to drive it to let the fluid flow through the transimission to re lube everything. I't been sitting for four year with all the fluid in the bottom of the pan, so any seal upto might have done some drying out. I say take it on a nice long cruise and let the fluid work it's way all the way through the tranny.

The problem is that highway cruising isn't really possible at this point. I get to 45-50 mph and the tranny misses the next shift, can't get up to speed. If it won't shift into the next gear will it have the opportunity to get that fluid to the necessary part(s)? Forgive me, I'm a transmission idiot.
