Well today was a good day, I gotta tell you. I get a call from Patriot Performance letting me know that the heads were done, and did I want them shipped, or was I gonna pick them up?

I chose to go to their facility to see it, and to let them see the car that was my benefactor. I chose to drive the 70 miles to go get them.

I've known the owner for a little while now, and I gotta tell you they do really good work. My heads were their "stage 2" full CNC w/ 1.78 SS intake, and 1.45 Exhaust valves. Springs rated for .600 lift w/ titanium retainers, & Maganese Bronze guides. While it takes a little longer, they slow the CNC cutting program down to produce an excellent finish. I also got the 4 thread sparkplug holes replaced w/ steel 8 thread units.

I chose a set of stage 1 cams, as they will not cause any P to V issues, which I was able to buy at cost, and they included a brand new set of Timing chains and gears.

They sell porting, and complete heads and engines for dozens of applications. Including the venerable 5.0. They have an in house dyno and will build any combination to suit your specific application.

I owe a big THANKS to Marty and Neil at Alabama Cylinder Head/ Patriot Performance for this super deal. I would gladly recommend them to anybody here. They are a great bunch of guys.

Now I know that these are still just CNC'd stock castings, and compared to a set of AFR's for a Windsor, they are tiny,...and I realize that there are many differences between the two engines. But the one difference I find most rewarding is that........these were free.:nice::nice::nice:

Looks good to me. Are you going to put a blower on it too, or just H/C/I to hit your power goals?

Webers. Webers are the last planned engine mod. Whatever power the engine makes once they're on will be all that she wrote. I am wondering now that I will have those heads, the Webers, the cams, and the exhaust, if it'll make the 338 HP I want it to make, and whether I'll have to settle for it at the Flywheel, or at the rear tires.

Sorry it took so long to respond, Ive been trying to stop drooling on the computer this whole time. I love your outside the box thinking. I understand what you mean about just being satisfied with what you make. I have ported and polished GT40Ps and a custom cam that I never ran together in my '95. I am going to go ahead and slap it on a new shortblock, and whatever it makes is what I will be happy with. Not the best money can buy, but should be relatively similar to a trickflow top end kit, and good enough for who its for.

Nick, you've gotta stay w/ me here. The decision to use Webers, ( Much to the chagrin of the members of the anti-carburetor league of Stangnet ) is about a month old. "Outside of the box" thinking is how the car got built. But, I really haven't had to settle, or be satisfied w/ anything that I have planned for it. I guess it helps that the end result comes so close to to my expectations. My original plan for the car was to try and achieve 428 CJ factory net horsepower ratings w/ my build (338 HP). I'll "settle" for that number whether it's at the front, or at the rear.

Webers will be perfect. I think you got a great theme. Man it's a sweet ride.

Thanks, You know I appreciate it. The carbs cost 450.00 each. and obviously, I'll need 4. So whenever I get an extra 1800.00 They'll be the next thing I buy. ( well, after the 1200.00 I need for the A/C system) Then, they'll be the very next thing.

I understand that! I'm putting AC in mine too. My wife threatened to take a different car on the Power Tour next year because it has been pretty hot the last two years on the Tour. It's heading to Texas so it will be HOT again!
My next big investment will be overdrive.
Anyway, your car is probably the coolest Fox Body I have seen, but I am partial to the classics!:hail2:

Right now, i think I'm gonna butcher the edelbrock and have the center " spider" machined out of the intake, and just leave the water passage, and small stubs above each port, so that I can have weber mounting flanges welded on.

The " b" option, will be to just get some 3/8th" flat plate an make the mounts ( since it is a dry valley ) and use the cast aluminum water passage from a junk plastic intake. Well see as I get closer to doing it.

And I know that too. I'm not trying to duplicate the 428CJ engine specs across the board. Anybody who can look at an FE and know that's what it is will know that my little 4.6 isn't one. The power figure is just a goal. To the uninitiated, sitting in my engine compartment, that little engine looks big as hell. Hell, alot of "Ford fans" have had to ask how big the engine is. And after having had to repeat "Yes it's only a 4.6" to several 5.0 guys, the engine is obscure enough to satisfy my " is you is or is you ain't a 428" theme.
The 335 HP number is just a relative figure. I just like the number for being a realistic N/A goal.
