Ford reintroduces the 1965 Mustang

  • Sponsors (?)

As part of its Ford Reproduction business, Ford revealed today it had approved a new stamping of the steel bodies for first-generation Mustang that buyers could then build into their own 1964 1/2 through 1966 Mustang, using whatever engine, axles, interior and other parts they can find on their own.

It's really an early 65 body, with standard interior, of course. It has the 65-66 radiator support, 64-65 (early) cowl, and 64-65 standard dash.

I take this as great news for our hobby that with the current economy new large $$ Mustang components are being released by Ford.

It's not actually from Ford. The manufacturer is Dynacorn; which produces reproduction parts for many cars over many years, for use in accident and rust repair. Their catalog is so extensive that they just started welding thier own parts together to make complete bodies.... Mustangs from 65 to 70, 60's Camaros, one or two Chevelle bodies, a 50-something BIG WINDOW Chevy truck cab, etc. A lot of the parts you find from the big vendors are actually their stampings; many of which are actually a thicker metal, especially in strees areas.

Now what Ford DID do was grant a license (for God knows how much in royalties) for Dynacorn to "weld their own parts together" and market them using the Mustang name and logos.

And Bryan: Long time no hear from! Been busy? Howzitgoin' with the '69 ?

depends on which 69 you are referring....the stang or the coug? still trying to sell the stang, well actually just sitting on it right now waiting for the market to come back, and the coug is sitting around waiting on me to get enough money to start building it. how's yours coming along?
