What year did Ford change the firing order on the 302/5.0 from 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 to 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 and was it first done on the roller cam engines? The deal is, I'm getting ready to fire up a 5.0 of unknown lineage and if I remember, the block casting is E6 or E8 and it definitely has a roller cam which would lead me to expect the later 1-3-7 etc. firing order, but when I turn the crank with a wrench, the firing order appears (by watching the valve train) to be 1-5-4 etc. I was under the assumption that all of the roller cam 5.0's had the later firing order? Were truck engines different than cars?
