What color should I paint my 93' coupe??

Paint it something unusual...you'd be surprised how good a color looks on an old car, when that car was never available in a color like what you pick. My car gets so much attention just for the color. I also don't really care about brand colors...paint is paint. Most of them all have a variation of similar colors anyway and they're just a shade off each other.

One thing i will say is TAKE YOUR TIME picking out a color. Even though i love the color i went with, i've already seen at least 5 other similar greens i wish i had seen first.

When I originally started this project I was going to paint it the limited edition carnary yellow - blk int w/the white leather GT seats / chrome 5 stars....so your right...after I have the car ...that idea is gone - I'm going retro with the motor ....and this green color (I think) ...

That's pretty much the route i went. I painted my engine the old baby blue color and i'm eventually switching back to my factory valve covers, and i'll be running the stock duel snorkel breather so it'll all look pretty old school. That color you picked looks a lot like Legend Lime, which is the new mint green color Ford used on the Mustangs.

post some pictures - I'd like to see that motor ....I know of the legend lime color that they brought back (I think in 05/06) for the mustangs .....it's nice - but a little too 'tinted' gold for me...this code 59 green is more of white based mint green - looks really good aganist a blk interior - w/chrome rims ...I may spray it over either a silver or white base ...to give it some 'pop'...there's a guy here in town who has like (20) twenty mustangs in his junk yard ...I'm going to buy a couple extra fenders and experiment before I make a final choice ....

:flag: happy V day to all vets !!

No pics at the moment, it's filthy as hell from all the wet sanding and dust from getting it painted, and i don't have those valve covers on it right now.

i have a bunch on my phone if u give me your email i could send them to you

Actually that's just a little too hyper green for me ...but for some reason. it looks really great on your GT ......awesome -ola job...thanks for offering to send some pics .....I think I'm goning to just paint the engine compartment a semi gloss blk .....buy some fenders ...test it out with that code 59 color .....and then take it from there ....what I want ...is to install the motor ...and have everything 'running' before I even begin the body work ....I'm a body and paint guy ...I hate this mechanical work ...I worked at a body shop for a few years ...the boss always 'yelled' at me for working on my 'own' car after I got out of school...it was a 93' GT trip blk vert ...calling 'card' for the shop....the 'shop' was in the middle of the gettho ....no one ever F'd with my car parked up on the sidewalk /corner outside......funny now that I think about it....

As for the ford/chevy paint color debate, very few people would actually notice.

When it comes to mint green on a notch, hell no.
Not a big fan of calypso either.

Black notch with black interior i'd have to say is most desirable, and there is a reason for that, it looks the best.
If you ever went to sell it, people would be kicking down your door instead of running from it.

:rolleyes:Oh ...that has def crossed my mind ....a blk on blk coupe is really awesome, especially with the chrome 5 stars

...but I've owned a triple blk 93 vert / 2 blk lx's (89, 92) / blk on blk cobra (96) and then went off and bought a 2001 SS camaro coupe new blk on blk ....but I had the 92 lx as a daily.....then went and traded the SS in on new Mach 1 blk on blk ......then traded that in on the 07 Black Gt that I have now...at least it has red interior....but it's still black ........

I was thinking either mint green or that canary yellow ...with the chromes ....I thought it would be really cool with the limited edition bright white leather gt seats...they look great new......bouncing around alot of ideas ...but I just can't get excited about another black car ....

Check out Ford's Sublime mustang color. it's pretty sweet. I'll find a pic and post it later. The S197 Mustangs got it, Don't know if it's still anoption or not.
