bang their door into your car. On Tuesday, 11/08/11, My wife and I were in my car, outside of her place of employment, having lunch and reading the newspaper when this lady pulls in, right on the stripe, and proceeds to bang her driver's side rear door into my fender, just behind the pass side door. She hit it hard, and so my wife rolls the window down and the woman quickly says, "It didn't hurt anything". My wife looks a little closer and OMG, yeah it did hurt...it hurt badly. Not only did it scrape the paint but it also put a nice dent in the side of my otherwise flawless car. It's survived more than 7 years but now it finally has a big nasty dent. To say I am pissed would be an understatement.
So the lady seems to be sorry and provides her name and telephone #. Well the number is incorrect. The person that answered says "Angela Johnson" does not have this #, but several other people have called for her at this #". Apparently I'm not the only one she is running from. 727-678-9667
We took photos at the scene, including her Florida tag # - 757 LWY. The vehicle, as you can see, is a Chevy Blazer 4X4 LS. This occurred, of all places, at the Pinellas County Courthouse on Court Street in Clearwater, FL.
After being unable to reach her by phone, I called the Clearwater Police. Apparently unless someone maliciously causes damage to your car, there is nothing they can or will do. More frustration...:nonono: To me, the only difference between this incident and a 'regular' car accident is the fact that the cars involved were not moving.
If anyone out there in the Mustang Community has access to the information I need, (her address, actual phone #, real name (if that is false too), etc.) I would greatly appreciate it. Please PM me.

Thanks! :hail2:

I'm not from FL, I'm in Pa but with the given information its sounds like you should be able make a "vandalism" complaint. In Pa there is no such thing as "vandalism" we classify it as "Criminal Mischief" which is when someone intentionally damages your property, and if it meets the criteria the perpetrator can be prosecuted. In this instance the police could not prosecute, however an Incident report could be made with the given information and the owner of the vehicle could be located. If that is the same person that damaged your car you could bring a Civil Suit at your local court house as the burden of proof in a civil case is much easier to prove then a criminal case.

In short what I am saying is call your Police Department and report vandalism to your vehicle, when they ask why you didnt report it sooner, tell them you did and explain what happened. Hope this helps!

Hey Brad, good info - much appreciated. If I am unable to find her address and/or phone # this weekend, I will call the police again on Monday. (In my area we have city police and county police. I called the city because I have had good experience with them in the past, but I also may try calling the county police - I may have better luck with them. I can lean on the fact that it happened it their Court House Parking Lot and the fact that my wife is a county employee too.)

I think it's absolutely ridiculous that someone can throw their car door open and smack the hell out of your car...and you sit there and watch them do it...and the Clearwater Police say there is nothing I can do about it. (And they wonder how road rage starts...!?!?)

In addition, before someone asks, Yes, I do have Auto Insurance, but like a lot of people I have a $500 deductible. I'm pretty sure the repair bill will be over $100, but I am quite certain that it won't be over $500. That said, I am considering contacting my Insurance Company just to make them aware of the issue. They have accident investigators (with access to to the info I want) on their payroll. They may be able to help without impacting my current insurance premium.

Florida laws are crap, and the traffic and number of nuts on the road just compounds it. I was in clearwater this fall, and it is just amazing to me that even late at night, there is still a LOT of traffic out.

I don't understand how she could door ding your Mach with that much room between both cars. To me, that's a ton of room. I've gotten out of my Focus with no more than 1ft. of room and still don't touch the other car.

She's probably hefty or a swinger. Either way she doesn't give a **** about anybody.

I've had my fair share in both my cars. Can you imagine the amount of **** that must not be given to smack the **** out of a 1966 Mustang?

I hope they all burn.

Not trying to be a jerk but it really doesn't look that bad of a ding. But its not right how she just did that and felt no obligation or responsibility for that. If its of any condolence you should see my poor car, I got a golf ball size ding on my back driver side fender thanks to a prick in a Jeep, and some other dings on the door from my days in high school...:(

Btw I agree with what Ronin38 said...:D

I called and left a message on her phone saying home She need to fix your car. Pretty funny message. Wish you could hear it lol

Edit: I just called again and woke her up lol. She then hung up on me.

That sucks to hear.

I have only got door dinged one time. It was when I owned an 03 Tahoe. I parked in the back of the parking lot of a grocery store. There were 6 or 7 empty spaces all around me. When I came out, there was a Denali parked super close to me. I had a huge dent in my door from the passenger getting out of the Denali and slamming it into my door. So I only saw it fitting that my size 13 Under Armor shoe meet that pretty Denali grill.

I just called this lady 10 times. Left the funniest messages ever.

One message i explained how the car gods are going to punish her by causing her car to disappear in the night and return as a pontiac aztek.

she got so fed up with me calling her, she turned her phone off.
