Ihave a 4r70w trans in my car. Will L/T's for a manual trans work and also what is the ideal operating temp for the trans?I'm asking about the headers cause i found some for sale and want to buy them but not sure if they will fit a auto. peace

I can assume that you are refering to your Fox, in all the years ive been doing this, the auto trans needed a special header (yes I got both auto and manual foxes) and with you especially going to the larger 4R70W trans, im sure you would need a auto trans headers. I know that MAC has them, there is good and bad reviews on them (I run them without issues though). And (my opinion) is that the suto trans should be at least around 160-170 degrees, and anything around 190's and up is getting to hot for performance applications, I know that the new cars run around 210 or so degrees so go figure.....but I know that every 5-10 degrees hotter, it degrades the life expectency dramatically.

If i'm reading correctly i want to stay around 160-170 degrees and not go no more then 190 for strip use?I have the controller for the trans also.ANother thing, my cooler is stock (as far as i know) and it also routes threww the radiator..Should i get an aftermarket cooler instead of the stock one? Oh yeah the headers i was looking into was for a manual :( peace
