Black on Black GT with Brembo package. After a few days of haggling I found a loan and price I felt comfortable with. This will be my second Mustang, first was an 02' GT that I put a full Bassani, Accufab intake w/plenum, Koni yellows and eibach sportlines on. I loved that car now I'm getting a way better package with over a 100 more hp stock. Not much I want to do to it other than springs to lower the stance and removing the badging. I'll be searching the posts for updates. I saw a couple posts on strange smells and not over filling oil. Anything else I need to be aware of? Pics tomorrow

Might want to check the threads on shifting if you got a stick. If you plan on racing, keep more than 1/4 tank of gas in the tank too. Seems some have had problems with the launch pushing the gas away from the pump so there's a temp loss of fuel supply but I don't think it's a prob for daily drivers.

Congrats on the ride! As always, post pics :)

Put 800 miles on it since last Friday. Nicest car I’ve ever had, I'm really impressed with it stock, a lot of real nice touches without being gaudy. I got to give ford credit on this car; they really nailed this one for us. Well worth the price tag.

Likes:
• The cars interior is just clean and refined, nothing over the top and very simple. I really like my SYNC and being able to stream my ipod music wirelessly.
• The old school gauges are classic
• It handles very well; I like the standard steering over the comfort and sport.
• Very usable power and more than enough for me.
• A very comfortable ride for a sports car.
Dislikes:
• I have the manual and I don’t like the way it shifts. The throw I think is right but its just not as smooth as I would like it to be. Maybe just need to break it in some more. The clutch travel is a little long for my liking as well.
• The center arm rest, that damn drink cup lid pops up every time I rest my arm on it. Going to buy some Velcro and do a cheap fix
• A little too much road noise.
• Exhaust sounds good but not good enough, I think the post on cutting out the mufflers and welding in some pipe to replace them is the way to go, no need for an axel back as all I’m looking for is that classic throaty mustang sound.
• The led color changes for the gauges and the interior, I guess I don’t like the fact that I can’t make up my mind what color to choose. Im on ice blue for the moment.
Overall If I had to do it again I would. The premium GT with track package at $35K is a steal imho. Those RTR wheels that I’ve seen in a matte black are on my list of things to do after the winter. The only thing I wish I would have done was get a moon roof. I didn’t take pics as its just a stock ride for now nothing to boast about for now. I’ll put springs and strut/shocks on soon so the stance is perfect. Looking forward to a track day.

I can't remember where I saw the post, but about a year or so ago, someone wrote up their how-to fix for this.

They simply removed the cover, removed the spring on the hinge and re-installed the cover.
Cover still works but won't open if if you hit the latch unless you lift it up.

Just my 2 cents

There are quite a few aftermarket shifters at reasonable prices imo that might make shifting more enjoyable.

I thought this vid was well done...

I'm usually on ice blue too. the only exception is that red promotes better vision at night on long dark highway drives (opens your retinas more or something) but then I find the high beam light glares too bright in comparison so I end up settling for green which sorta in between the two.

I found this video 2011-2012 Ford Mustang Transmission issues on WFAA - YouTube while looking into the MWG shifter that I'm totally sold on. I've really babied my manual for 1000 miles and I absolutely hate the way this car shifts. Can you point me to the threads on shifting you mentioned?

Hey Ninja187,

Congrats on the new GT, and welcome to the forum! I suggest bringing your Mustang to the dealer so they can inspect your shifting. Please private message me your VIN, contact information, mileage, & servicing dealer name/state so I can help.

I look forward to hearing from you! :)

Sounds a lot like my situation.. My first was an '02 Mineral Grey GT Convertible. My mods were: 1" lowering all around, Bassani X Pipe, MagnaFlow Exhaust, FRP Ceramic Coated Shorty Headers, Steeda Short Shifter, AccuFab Throttle body and Plenum. CAI.

Wrecked that car (not my fault) in 2005. Bought an RX8. Love the '8, but wanted another 'Stang more. No mods yet on this one.

Water will leak out of both your door latches whenever the car gets wet. It will accumulate in the area of the lower door sill placards and on the door weather stripping since the leak is inside the stripping. When you open the doors, the water that has collected will run out. In a super heavy rain, be sure you periodically open the doors to let the water drain. Unattended, it will breach the sill ridge and get you carpets wet!!

^^^^^ Let not your heart be troubled! My dealer service adviser informed Ford last summer of this issue which was apparent at the lot on other 2012 Mustangs. A "case" number has been assigned by Ford. I am awaiting final disposition. ***...as my fingers rapidly thump my desktop...***

Drink holder or storage bin?

I sense some confusion between the door over the drink holders and the storage compartment door to the rear.
