Want 35 more hp

Personally, I wouldn't convert to a fox throttle body. Being able to buy an Accufab throttle body isn't worth all that effort and dealing with the hassle. There are plenty of decent throttle bodies availabe for an SN. Just swap the intake itself and be done with it. Even if it did give a hp or 2, the fox throttle body is such a junk design it's a hassle to deal with.

I think the Trick Flow adapter is 75mm which matches the larger intakes. I think all the others are 70mm. You might try and see how it runs with just the 65mm, it might be big enough.

yay:nice:

also you will get to sell that cobra intake to someone here on the forum to recoup most of your money. I would go ahead and run the 75 mm TB and elbow on that systemax II if you dont want to mess with the fox conversion. You can sell yoru intake and TB to several people on here, just keep an eye on threads of people who are just starting with their modding and market it in their threads.

I had to hog out my SVO / FRPP Elbow when I changed to the Systemax Intake. Mine was really old and only had a 65MM opening. I put a 2.5" wire wheel on a drill and opened it up to around 72MM. I was using a 70MM Throttle body. I also used the wire wheel to clean up / smooth out the casting flash on the Systemax intake opening also. Was all nice and smooth afterwards.

I think the intake and retune will get you to your 35HP goal. It'll probably make more boost.

Need an opinion on flow through intakes....

My heads/intake are ported for a
fel pro 1250 gasket If I go to a heavier ported intake a fel pro1262R what will happen to the flow???

Fel Pro #375-1250 H/P Intake GasketFord 260-351W V8 Engines
Stock or Small Race Port
Port Size: 1.20'' x 2.00''
Thickness: .060"

Fel Pro 1262R H/P Intake GasketFord 260-351W V8 Engines
Large Race Port
Port Size: 1.40'' x 2.25''
Thickness: .090"

The Systemax tapers down to the stock gasket size where it mates with the heads. Just port the bottom of the Systemax to match the 1250. If it has already been ported, check to see of the 1250 is big enough against the intake. Mine is actually a hair bigger than the 1262 in some places and I have to trim the gasket a little.

Thanks.... after I thought about this I realized that when installing my 1250 gaskets on my system I cut them to open them up..

A 1262 gasket would probably fit my heads great..

Cool. I haven't installed a 1250 in ages, but the 1262 needs a few modifications to fit. You have to cut the tabs off the bottom, and you have to cut the little sections out on the water ports. It's obvious when you hold the gasket up against the heae.

awesome great choice , i noticed you mentioned a cam i wuold try the comp blower grind along with that intake, i bet your goal will be reached and how about an si upgrade to your blower? it gives you some higher rpm help

well when you start getting into that much boost the intake becomes less important, i do not think upgrading that intake will net much more, its more about matching your parts at this stage and having the right tune, i dont see what cam you have, when you start getting into that much hp it comes down to compression, cam, head combo's, you are probably at your limit with that combo, if you want more bigger heads custom cam and more boost are next., its easy to go from 400-500 hp but a whole lot harder to go from 500-600
