Hey Stangnet...looking for guidance before I buy new Cobra R wheels. I have noticed that many of the replica Cobra Rs just don't look right. Either the curves are wrong on the spokes, hub is flatter, spokes are too fat or short...etc. Would like to hear from folks who know the differences. Of the OE Wheels I have seen...the spokes curve in toward the rim too much and too quickly where it meets the rim. The AFS versions look to be the closest to me right now. Any help greatly appreciated. I need to buy 17x8s because of my UPR K-member set up. Can only afford to do this ONCE (and not even then). THANKS! Ron

Man, your eyes must be better than mine because all the Cobra R replica wheels look the same to me minus the ones that have the fake 3 piece wheel look. Are you positive you are not looking at 98 Cobra wheels which have a simular look, or Y2K Cobra R's which are different but share the name?

Years ago I rocked a set of knock off Cobra R's and they looked ok, but I went on eBay and bought OEM Cobra R center caps and I think that made all the differnce in the world.

The '95 and '98 are very similar at a glance, but the spokes are thinner and have more arch on the '98s, and the '98s have that deep lip between the spokes. The '00 should be pretty obvious to spot, they were the most unique. Personally i think the '98 is the best looking of all 3, but they're also the hardest to find because nobody (that i know of) makes an aftermarket version.

Well, if you only have money to do this once, do not get a set of 4 lug r's. They don't and never will look right. 2 lincoln rotors and a couple ranger axles and drums and you are 5 lug.

Yeah..I am sure I am comparing the same rims guys....95 Cobra Rs. I just noticed on some of the different advertisers websites...when the show them at different angles other than straight on, you can notice a little difference. Thanks for the replies so far. Sounds like most have OE then??

I totally agree with fiveohwblow go OE. I got the chrome version of the 95R from Ford racing and the quality of an OE wheel is just top notch + the offset is perfect unlike some version I see. Here lies one problem, Ford discontinued them. so you will have to hunt for them of you want OE.

tannerc91gt correct over played during its time. some other wheels are getting that way now. Funny I have said this before for a shunned wheel I get a ton of compliments at shows and meets go figure . like you said still a great fox wheel.
