Best Place to get a 408 Kit

I picked up my new, used motor and want to start collecting parts. Where is the best place to get a 408 kit? I checked Suumit and Jegs and they have 408 longblocks and runners but no stroker kits. I also Checked CJPony and didn't see one there.


In addition this block will need machine work, needs Bored, and line honed. How much should I expect to pay for such work? I've never had such major work done and don't want to be taken advantage of. I've been looking at several local Machine shops, asking about them and getting opinions and think I have 1-2 that I've not heard anything bad about...

Coast High here too. I also recommend buying a longblock aswell. assembly is not as fun as one might think.

I would consider buying a long block, except that I already have 2 351W blocks, 1 Solid pushrod and the other a Hydro motor

I used a SCAT kit...they have different levels deppending on your goals for the motor....I opted for the fully forged option...not the cheapest kit out there but quality is top notch!
