Smog Removal Question

Ardmore, Ok.
I dropped a fresh motor into my 88 (mass air car) GT car yesterday (306, forged, E-303, Cobra Intake, etc.).

I am thinking of completely removing the smog, since it was already not all completely there. My question: Is there a way to keep the Check engine light from staying on? Also, and I can check the FAQ section for this, but, what belt do I need if I remove the smog pump?

Thanks for any help!!

With a chip and tune they can turn off individual codes, for EGR or whatever. Removal of the smog pump also means no cats. I measured around my pullies for the length of belt required, and in the end it took 3 runs to the auto parts store to get the right size belt, so it was somewhat trial and error. There are a lot of variables on the length required, with different size under drive pullies, various AC/smog pump eliminator kits, etc. I also found two potential routes for the belt around the various pullies, which allowed two significantly different lengths, one of which had more contact length with all the pullies except the alternator.

Look what 3 seconds on Google can do!

I have no cats. Brand new stainless 3" back to MagnaFlows.
