Hybrid Z in Japan

Hello Everyone!

I just signed up, but have been here reading tuning post many times.

My ride is a 1974 Datsun 260Z with a EFI 347 and T-5. Not really a Mustang, but real close! Hope no one is offended by me registering here. Some people here may have heard of HybridZ.org? Many Nissan/Datsun Z cars with all sorts of engine transplants from GNX V6s to LS1s and a few Fords. I have been a member to them since I bought my Z car. Even though I only posted maybe 50 times in 8 years, I do spend a lot of time reading old post.

My dilemma: In 2002 I bought a rusted out 260Z in the state of Maine. At the time I was assigned to VP-26 at NAS Brunswick. After a couple of years working on the car, I got orders to NAF Atsugi Japan. In 2004, I had to rush thru and finish the car to ship it to Japan. Needless to say, there are many, many bugs that need to be worked out.

Currently the car has been in Japan for 7 years and may have been driven 1,000 miles since I bought it in 2002. Now I will try to get it registered in JAPAN!

Here is the link to Car Domain (that hasn't been updated, but has the jist):

Anyway, looking forward to learning how to set up my Tweecer R/T!

Actually, all of them can hold a V8. There are lots of combinations out there from Buick GNX 231 turbo V6, LS1, Big Block Chevys, even a few SBFs.

The thought was not to mod it out to perform like a muscle car, just build something a little unique.

But "Ricer"? I guess had to expect that. Never really thought of it as a "Ricer", but won't let it hurt my feelings.

I don't use ricer as a negative term, just to classify it in the spectrum it falls. I had my fair share of ricers in the past (92' hatchback civic, 96 nissan 200sx, 2004 nissan sentra spec-v, & 2008 subaru impreza). My nissans I done the most too, and hey upheld to the name ricer because I had them nice tuned exhausts, CAI's, etc. The basic stuff, but yeah big v8 in a small car, if done right I'd hate to see that thing rocket down a track

Sure, the link in my signature has some. Let me know if it doesn't work.

It's very interesting! An absolute hoot to drive. It hasn't been tuned other than what Mike (Tweecer) had me change over the phone in 2004. With the F303 cam and a bad idle, gummed up injectors and some rust spots but it still gets way too crazy for Japan. You got to figure 275 hp estimated, t-5, welded diff and only weighs about 22-23o0 lbs.
