Recommendations on a short shifter?

what are the best prices anyone has found on the tri-ax, MGW, and Hurst. Cus im thinking about going hurst because Im on a budget. Ive heard less to no complaints about the hurst competition which cost 186. on americanmuscle. the tri-ax is 100 dollars more...and Ive also never heard of MGW until I came onto this site a couple months ago

The MGW was $280, but they are awesome! I've heard of some complaints, never owned others, about rattling or hard shifts with the Steeda and Pro 5.0 shifters. To each is own, I just love the MGW shifters and have always had great results with them.

I looked at most of the shifters mentioned here. I ended up buying the Steeda tri-ax and a set of lowering springs that were Boss 302 specific for my 2012 Boss 302. In my opinion, every shifter should work or they wouldn't be in business for very long.
Steeda had a nice little discount going on and from my past experience, I've never had a problem in dealing with them. I am impressed with Steeda and their relationship with the Mustang community. They engineer, design, and manufacture nearly everything they sell. I've never been to any of their facilities but go to their web page and have a look around.
I had been looking for lowering springs and every place I looked the dealers said "oh it fits the Boss too". I was a little leery of this "one size fits all". When I was on the phone ordering the shifter, Todd (I think that was his name) said they just came out with Boss specific lowering springs. So I said add it to my order. I got everything by Fed-ex in 3 days. Only time will tell if I made the right decision. Peace out.

I paid 249 for the Steeda tri-ax. I think they have a $20 dollar discount going on.

The Steeda Tri Ax shifter has gone through many tests and studies and we have determined that the 20% throw is ideal for the driver, the transmission and ultimately for not missing a gear. Our shifter gives you the confidence that when you shift from 2nd to 3rd gear that you will hit the correct gear as opposed to having a gummy feeling and shifting back into 1st , into 5th, or just missing a shift. Our shifter has crossed the finish line in first place more times than the competition and that is something we are proud of.
wait wait wait. the throw is 20% or 20% less than the stock??

My Steeda shifter has been in the car now for a month or so. Installation was easy and the thing shifts perfect. For the MT-82 this is an excellent shifter. I hated the stock shifter so much by missing up shifts and even down shifts. You can buy the shifter alone or with the replacement lower bushing. The stock lower bushing is a total piece of crap. Be sure to get the new lower bushing.
