I'm looking to buy a 2012 or 2013 Mustang in late summer/early fall 2012. I definitely want a GT, not sure on trim level yet. My preference is a coupe, mainly for the stiffer body structure and better selection of performance options. The wife would prefer a convertible.
From checking the Ford site, it looks like all convertibles get the 3.31 rear axle with the 6-speed manual transmission, but that coupes have a couple of other options. If you can't order a 3.73 convertible from the factory, how tough would it be to swap it after the fact, either from Ford or aftermarket? Can you just swap the ring and pinion gears, or do you need to get into the tranny to change a speedo drive gear?
