So my limited slip has been going out for a while now. I was talking about it with some of my friends that have Jeeps. They told me instead of using a limited slip or buying a "locker" they just weld their gears and it does the same thing. So they gave me a quick how-to and I decided to tackle it this weekend. They said I didn't have to take it apart to do it but since this is my daily driver and I couldn't have anything go wrong I decided to disassemble it to clean everything for the best results. It was my first time taking the cover off, nevermind disassembling it but I thought I did a good job. It only took me 2 days. It was a complete pain in the ass getting everything back in with the gears welded, kind of wish I didn't take it apart, but I finally got it to go with a big hammer. Finally got it all back together yesterday. Went to take it for a test drive and the car won't move. I even tried revving it and dumping the clutch cause I thought it just had more traction now. It just makes a loud bang and stalls everytime. I really need help this is my daily driver.
Here's a picture of my welds, I thought they were good enough. Do you think the welds broke? It was my first time welding.

Hahahahah. Oh man. This thread will be epic if you are serious. I really hope you are just messing with us and that is just some kind of "modern art" you made out of some old parts.

The stupid part is, if anyone who actually knows their way around a rear end looks at that pic, it's clear to see that the ring and pinion are OUT of the rear end, and it would be impossible to put them in the rear end with them welded together, so that clearly spoiled this whole joke for me. As soon as i saw the pic i knew it was fake. I'm pretty sure this originated on a Jeep forum.

That's why I had to use a big hammer to get it back in after welding it! Duh. You damn smart people don't let things go on for long enough to get a laugh out of the newbs.

Yeah I've seen that pic before, I can't remember where though. Funny stuff.

Reminds me of a Kawasaki forum where a member mounted his license plate up under the tail section of his zx6....and drilled right through the computer while doing it.

Hahah. That on kawiforums.com, wasn't it? I used to have a ZX6R and I remember that thread!

It popped up on just about every motorcycle forum out there lol.

"How do we make this failure worse? The plate installer missed his mark FIVE times, making for a total of SEVEN holes in the ECU! It gets worse. Two of the holes went through the ECU plugs which have ~30 wires each and are now destroyed so now it will need a main harness. And its worse than that. Oh yes, theres more! Remember the hydrocked motor? These motors have been known to bend rods when trying to crank over while hydrolocked. So the motor may be dead now as well which will no doubt total this bike. All this because someone wanted to move their license plate..."
