I have a whine in my drivetrain. I thought it was the T5, so I swapped in another T5 (have no history on it). I still hear the whine.

Sound increases when on the gas and when completely off the gas in the upper RPMs. Happens in all gears. Still whines when clutch is out and in neutral. TOB and pilot bearing are new, PP was good to go.

Do I have another trans with a bad input, or am I an idiot and it is the rear end?

Can you tell if the whine is coming from the back of the car or from in the middle? If its coming from the back I would take a look at the gears to see if there is any uneven wear or damage to any of the teeth, also look for metal filings in the gear oil.
