2012 GT Suspension

Happy New Year All. Has anyone gone with the Ford M-FR3-MGTA Suspension Pack?
Briefly, it's lowering springs (1"), larger diameter anti sway bars, non adjustable Tokiko
shocks, SVT upper strut mounts, shorter jounce stops, etc. Price is reasonable from American
Muscle and many other sources. Also found one on Ebay. I need to lower my 2012 GT and
this kit appears to give me that plus some additional goodies. I have already ordered the Ford
GT 500 LCA's. My Mustang is a 5.0, 6 speed manual, 3:55's (factory) and Brembo Package.
Any thoughts here? Also, with a 4.5 hour installation time estimate, what's a shop going to
charge? I'm too old to lay around on the driveway doing this install!!
Is it possible to have caster/camber plates with a 4 hole (on each side) strut tower brace???
Have done the BBK CAI and American Thunder Mufflers! Love this car!

I had a 2010 GT and really liked the handling and sound. When I got the 2012 GT (had to have the Coyote) , it was too soft and too quiet. I have installed the MGTA pack except for the sway bars. I have not figured out yet how much roll I am getting. May do that at some time but I will probably replace the door speakers first. It is quite stiff but the bumps do not bother me. I am sure some would say that it is too harsh of a ride but it is better than the stock setup. It took me longer than 4.5 hours but I like that quality time with my car and I hate to pay for something I can do. If you are willing to pay for install then I would consider using a dealer so they officially warrant the parts. I do not see much evidence of the the rear axle kicking out so I do not see the need for a different panhard bar. Did you retune after the CAI? At this time I see no need for more power. Best wishes, Mustang GTs are the performance value of the world in my book.

I didn't take any time to research this (it's not my car ha ha!) but another poster posted this just several posts below yours...

...so it seems that you may already have the GT500 Rear lower control arms?

Did not retune the BBK CAI as I bought the one that did not require a different tune (according to BBK)
Thanks for the info on the MGTA info. Did it lower the car about 1"? Any bumpsteer/alignment issues

Well, yeah, actually it should. MAF transfer value is massively important on a modern vehicle, regardless of type. Mess with this value and unexpected results, including driveability issues and power LOSS can be experienced. This value is the cornerstone around which a modern vehicle's tune works. This ain't no speed density '88 5.0 here.

Modern car like the Coyote, I'd say, tune first, then flow mods, not the other way around.
 
Makes perfectly good sense! However, the BBK was very specific about 'No Tune Required' and I will say
that additional torque was experienced SOP and the sound change was considered invaluable! Now, its
flexing muscles at the front AND the back!
'12 GT Stripper, 6man, Brembos, BBK CAI, Ford Racing LCA's, Flowmaster American Thunder, factory 3:55's.
Love the potential of this car! Next are the Ford Racing springs....P's or K's (cant remember which) to lower
the car 1". That keeps it streetable for the speedbumps and parking lot stops! I rub my chin on them now!!

What "no tune required" means is they didn't change the size of the MAF tube or it's flow characteristics with the CAI. This means, basically, no power gain from installing it. Butt dyno is notoriously unreliable, as it's affected by good wishes, noise level and a variety of other unmeasured factors.Don't mean to be a drag but, if you don't alter the MAF transfer value, you can't make more power as the ECM sees the same amount of air is being ingested by the engine.

It is 1" lower. I don't feel any bumpsteer and it was realigned to spec.
