I have a 2012 Laguna Seca Boss that has a bent rear end. i was told by someone that the housings where the same as a regular GT. Does anyone know what I would need to do to find this out?

I'm guessing I could just change out the center chunk if that's the case.

This car was hit down the side and I'm going to repair it, but finding one of these rear ends is impossible.

Thanks for your help.

Several. I can fix that part of it, no problem. I just need to know about the rear end. It's the only part I'm not unsure of.

The rear end in it is definitely bent.

I do not know the cold, hard answer to your question. HP between the GT and Boss are very similar but I'm not sure what (if any) performance enhancements your Laguna Seca got as part of the package. That's why I ask if you have pics of the damage to the axle. If it's just the tube or housing then I'd say that a GT part really makes no difference. If it's hard points and attachment gear, then there are probably differences. So we'd need to know exactly what parts are bent/broke in order to make an educated guess or even try and find part numbers to see which model they applied to.

It pushed the wheel back and when it did it broke the tube where it goes into the center chunk. I think everything in my center chunk should be OK. Do you know what is different about a boss rear end? Just a little stronger?

I don't think that the housing is any different between the two cars. What I think is different is the way that the housings are mounted and how the suspension is is tuned and quality of parts that attach the housing to the rest of the car.

That "chunk" that you refer too. Is it the differential that you're talking about?

I took a quick look at Fordparts, com and they show the same part# for the diff housing on all V8 Mustangs. But to be sure however I take a ride over to the local Ford dealer's parts dept and have them look it up. Same part # same part.
