Exhaust Dilemma

I recently purchased a catback exhaust from MBRP. I am rather happy with fit and finish of the product however I am regretting the volume (cold start is super loud and wide open throttle is rediculous). The setup is a 3" H Pipe and a 3" full catback system which has the "bullet" style mufflers (resonators) in front of the rear axle and 3" pipe leading out to 4"tips. I called lethal performance about adding another company's axleback kit however they informed me that it will not bolt up without some fabrication due to the inlet size of the axle back not being 3" and my entire system from the H-Pipe back is 3". Not to mention for a decent axleback system I'm looking at spending an additional 400-500 dollars. To keep cost down and not have to remove my current setup and replace with factory setup with a different axleback I was thinking of purchasing a set of Flowmaster 44 or 50 series mufflers and install with my current set up. Anyone have any reccommendations as far as mufflers or any other ideas, i would greatly appreciate it.

This is a video of my current setup...

It sounds nice but you are scaring all the wildlife.
MBRP makes hi quality stuff. Since you have their "Race Exhaust" can't they supply you with their street exhaust? So far I haven't replaced my exhaust because I'm afraid of the excessive noise potential. Most guys & gals on here seem to want louder, while I want mellow. There is a place for loud but if your stang is a daily driver I think you would want only a little louder than stock. I've got a new Boss and most Boss owners are taking out the baffles to side exhaust. Well I took mine out and it sounded great!!! However I put the baffles back in after 2 days. Didn't fit my lifestyle. Louder is not always better. I hope Lethal Performance or MBRP will help you out.

Is the h-pipe an 'off-road' unit? Or does it have catalytic converters? If it's an off-road unit, then swap it out for a catted one.
acobra,

It is not an offroad pipe, bolts up after the factory cats...I chose this pipe because 1. Got a great price for the H pipe/Catback combo 2. I wanted to leave the cats for now to avoid any aftermarket ECU tunes that may/may not void my warranty. I'm in the military and getting ready to transfer to GA (just north of jacksonville, FL). Once I establish a good relationship with a service department down there I am considering adding longtubes, so this H pipe will allow me room for future upgrade.

Also I talked to a rep from flowmaster over the phone and he told me that adding mufflers rear of the axle would be the worst thing i could do soundwise...he reccommended that i keep my current setup but replace the mufflers where they are at with 2 40 series delta flow mufflers with the correct offset that will accomodate enough room for the driveshaft running between them.

The sound I'm looking for is a deep, hollow sound...in my opinion the 3v 4.6L had a great sound with a pro-chamber h pipe and the MAC axle back set up, or as always the classic 302 with a 40 series. Is the reason that these axle back systems don't have a nice low tone due to the lack of tailpipes after the muffler before exiting?

I think the new coyote exhausts sounds great if you are looking for that raspier "race car" sound. Personally the volume doesn't bother me too much, it's the neighbors I don't want to irritate.
