Bent control arm? k member?

so the other week I slid into a curb pretty hard going too fast around a wet corner. yeah I know stupid. broke two right side rims.

so I got new rims, it drives fine but I noticed the front tire is pushed back about an inch and not centered in the wheel well. from my research so far its probably a bent control arm or K member.

any advice on how I can check what's bent? and do you need to pull the motor to change the k member? I'm fairly mechanical just haven't done too much to this car.

Thanks for any and all help.

You should be able to tell if you get under there and look. Look for chipped off pain/powder coating. What type of K member and control arms. If you have chromoly arms and a mild steel K....it might be the K. If you have mild steel both, my guess, the contol arm is what bent.

To change the K-member, it is actually easy. You dont need to pull the engine. I have used 2x4s across the engine bay with come-a-long straps to keep the engine up or a cherry picker. After the engine is braced up (and the car is on jack stands), remove the motor mounts, the struts, the steering rack (I usually ziptied mine in place), tie rods, then the 8 bolts that hold the K member in. The first time might have taken 2 -3 hours, but being careful. Once you do it once, the whole thing can take about an hour.

I'll take a better look at it this week sometime. but the front end is all stock so stamped mild steel. hopefully its just the control arm that a lot easier to replace.
