Gotta love 68-degree road course track days in Feb :D

They've been talking about building one in KC for at least 6 years, I wouldn't count on anything anytime soon. They should run an infield road course at the speedway, but the dip:poo: owners don't see enough dollar signs involved. Meanwhile Heartland Park in Topeka is a nice, fun track and some really good clubs put on excellent weekend events there that are open to all makes and include fantastic instruction, such as the BMW club, Porsche Club, Audi Club, and to some extent the SCCA. It used to be my home track, I've probably got 4500+ miles on it and a ton of fun memories. HPT also still does their "Touring Club" events on Wednesdays from 1 PM to dusk for $125. Used to be 4 PM to dusk for $60. Either way, it's limited to 75 people divided into 3 or 4 run groups, so you get a lot of seat time. Instruction was unfortunately limited then and probably still is, in an effort to cram as many people through with as much seat time as possible within such a short window. When I instructed for the program I always took my new guys aside and gave them a 10-minute Skip Barber class the best I could so they wouldn't be going out with practically zero knowledge. But I digress, the point is HPT is just an hour away from most places around KC and well worth the effort to find events. I can't recommend the KCR BMWCCA enough, their track instruction program is as good as you'll get at any professional school and you can run a whole weekend with them for $250 instead of $1400+ at a pro school. KCRPCA is a close second.
