It seems like NY likes to rip everyone off no matter what it is. From a private seller they seem to be selling for 22-28k and dealers are trying to charge 25-30k for an 03 Cobra! Shoot even Mach 1's dealers are asking around 20k. Why is NY so expensive?

I found a Termi for around 18k a few months ago and test drove it. Cheapest one I could find in NY. The car was BEAT! Engine knocking, suspension very noisy, tranny grinding. The stupid dealer said all the noises were normal for a Mustang. I offered him 15k and he laughed in my face. I then told him that this is my 5th Mustang and he was an idiot.

I just ran a quick search on AutoTrader; there are only 2 listed within 50 miles of where I live. One private seller asking $30K for an '03 convertible, modified to 601 rwhp , 16K miles.

The other is from a dealer...a black 2003 convertible (ad says it's a 10th Anniversary but it doesn't look like the interior has the red inserts and the wheels have been swapped for the polished '04 Cobra wheels) with 15,950 miles...not modified aside from upgraded brakes apparently...they're asking $27K.

Unreal.

I have seen some ads for Terminators for $20K or so.

Are 03-04 Cobras going to be like MK4 Supras? People think they are gods gift and they will always be in the 20-30k range? I mean Terminators are pretty badass! lol

Interesting way of looking at it...could very well be, seeing that we're nearly 10 years after the first Terminators started showing up and still fetching upwards of 75% of their original value. They were the first factory supercharged Mustangs....

People can ask what ever they want for a car, doesn't mean they will get anything close to that or that the car is worth what they are asking. Its like when people think mods make their car more valuable,:nonono:. In Ca, around me they are between 15k to 25k in ranging shapes with them mostly being verts which is a shame.

Negative, they are way too common and high production #'s. if anything, a saleen s381E

I was thinking in the sense of the powerplant. The Boss 429 being the first "hemi" headed motor in a Mustang(and the last). And the 2003-2004 Cobra being the first supercharged powerplant in a Mustang. They are both firsts and they are both the most subtle muscle cars of their generations. But i see your point with the S281E

P.S. Upon typing this, I am wishing on a shooting star that Ford has some sort of homage to the Boss 429 in the works. 6.2 anyone? :D

Well, actually any 4v engine is technically a "hemi" or hemispherical combustion chamber (3024v, 351c 4v, 429 330 4v, 281 4v etc.) vs. a heart style 2v motor chamber. But I understand the milestone you are referring too.

I thought that a 302 4v meant a 4 barrel carburetor. Not the number of valves .... I never knew they had a 4 valve 302 :O_o:

I was referring to the new coyote engine, but a company does make 4v heads for small block pushrod engines.

But to get back on topic, it would be a better buy if you added a blower to a s197 then to buy a cobra. A bolt on 3v kenne bell stage 2 kit is $6300 and with a proper built engine is good for over 600rwhp. but if you really need to say you own a cobra, then by all means get one but shop out of state.

That is not a 4v, nor is that for a 351 C or for the Lima motors. As stated by midnightdriver. Im sure he is confused with the distinction between 2 and 4 barrel carbs.

:rlaugh:;) (sorry but I have spent so much time around cars, I get made fun of by car guys) Anything is possible with money and enough searching for it, here you go. http://www.araoengineering.com/frdsmb.htm
