I've been working on my 97 Mustang changing it from a 3.8 to 5.0. It has been fun and challenging. It looks great. But I'm having a problem,no power to the fuel pump. Have went over the wiring, checked all connections, and sensors. I don't know if their is anyone on here, that has attempted this.If there is someone that has,Please I need your help.

I've done a 94 3.8 to a 5.0 (see the link in my sig); all the 94-95 Mustangs share the same wiring harness so the swap was relatively easy. I don't know how or if the chassis wiring on the 97 is different from a 94-95, so I'm not sure if I can help at all. According to RockAuto, the OEM fuel pump in the 97 3.8 is the same as the 94-95 5.0, so that should not be a problem. The fuel pump gets it power from the CCRM module; it's the box attached to the coolant reservoir bracket. It has relays for cooling fan, fuel pump and overall engine electrical. If the fuel pump relay has failed the pump will not prime. You may also want to check the fuses in the fuse box under the hood and make sure none have popped.

I found the problem this morning. Double checked the wiring.Found one wire out of line.Wasn't connecting, once I relocated the wiring. The fuel pump started working.Which showed me I had a fuel leak. Fixed that, now have a oil leak. It's been something different ever since I got the fuel pump working. It's a work in progress! Enjoying every minute!!.
