In the fall I found a killer deal on a 89 lx hatch. It was sitting uncovered in a feild since 2006. It was stated and ran about twice a year but never moved. Heres what it looked like when I went to check it out.

I tried to drive it home that day but the alternator wasnt charging so I had to stop and boost it a few times then the water pump started to leak so I said screw it and went home and borrowed a trailer. Finally home (sorry for the crappy pics)

Once I got into the shop and cleaned up a little.

Looked pretty good other then a rust hole the size of my thumb about the drivers rear tire and some small spots under the rear window on the hatch that I cut out and filled in later. Oh and it was pretty faded! There had to of been atleast an inch of gravel on the floor too. Tires were cracked and looked really bad and the water pump seal was screwed and blew out coolant. The Brakes were wore right down to the metal backing on the pads and shoes. But about $350 later and hours of buffing, polishing and cleaning , it doesnt look so bad, especially for being my first project car!

Good job...back from its neglected state!!

New carpet, water pump, some decent tires and the MM brake upgrade kit (cause those rubber lines can't be all that good) and that would make one hell of a driver. Nice catch!

Yup I put a new water pump in it, took the new tires and rims off of my wrecked '92. The carpet looks a little dirty in the pictures from getting in it with muddy boots to move it. I cleaned the carpet with carpet cleaner and it acually looks pretty good other then a couple little spots. The Brake Lines suprisingly look pretty good. I planned on keeping it and building it up for a potent little street car but I was offerered almost tripple what have into it so I think I'm selling it lol!

Haha I'm already a little attached to it but I'm looking forward to newer ,nicer and faster cars. Yeah I'm selling it but I have a feeling that it probably wont be my last fox body. I'm acually selling both of my cars and finding somthing newer but havent decided what yet. The car looked really good for sitting that long. It was pretty sun faded and a little rough around the edges but nothing hard to fix.

Yeah there was. The bra was stiff like a board and all moldy. I had to cut it off with a razer blade and peal it off he hood. It held moisure under it and there was lots of serface rust that I sanded all all out then repainted the front of the hood. I did alot of buffing and you have to look really hard to see the bra line now but man what a pain that was! Never ever putting a bra on any of my cars!
